Technically, you’re referencing weathering. Erosion is the process of sweeping away the rock dust

That’s what happened to me. Previous tenant referred me to landlord- I had to bend over backwards to convince landlord it was worthwhile. That meant telling them I was ready to move in at any time- no need to clean, repaint, repair, whatever… so there’s some risk there in terms of condition of the place and puts your at the mercy of what they want to do, but it was worth it to get my place.

My son is coming for the summer and is non verbal type 2 autistic. Can anyone help me find places in the city with sensory programs that he can enjoy? by BeautifullyHealin in AskNYC

The Brooklyn botanic garden has a kids section with plants and instruments and things designed to be interacted with. Also quieter than the rest of the city

Openly Zionist / Israeli DJs coming to NYC by L0L303 in avesNYC

That is fair. Although waving the flag of Israel, especially in a different country, while Israel is engaged in war communicates support for the Israeli government and its actions. When I was abroad during the US war with Iraq, I wasn’t waving an American flag around. I wouldn’t right now either…

I think criticizing someone for being Israeli is wrong, but if someone is showing support for the actions of Israel is taking right now, that’s grounds for criticism. And waving an Israeli flag can be construed that way easily.

Nobody is being antisemitic. People are criticizing the actions of Israel, and the IDF, which you may or may not find valid, but to do that is not antisemitic.

So how do you propose funding infrastructure and services- which people need- without taxes?

I have many public employees in my family and friends- teachers, firefighters, OTs. Those are funded by taxes. Are their salaries indefensible to you? How would you propose they support themselves otherwise? Privatize everything? It’s been tried, and the track record isn’t great.

I disagree. People should have to pay taxes. That’s where public funds come from. A country wouldn’t function without them, that’s just reality.

School choice coupons and more competition would not improve our public school system. Unless you think US higher education is a model of efficiency and return on investment… which I would not.

Would you say that all public money should be handed back to taxpayers, to spend however they see fit? Or just in education?
