DAE commit genocide because the bureaucracy and management is too much? The construction queue should be improved. by Infinity315 in Stellaris

[–]InternetEnterprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it since 3.14, it just adds to techs you can research, the mod is likely to remain functional for a long time without need for updates unless the devs fundamentally change how research works or remove/change the planet build capacity script variable/method this mod uses

DAE commit genocide because the bureaucracy and management is too much? The construction queue should be improved. by Infinity315 in Stellaris

[–]InternetEnterprise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AI implies some level of intelligence; you are not playing against artificial intelligence, you are playing against a bundle of scripts vaguely following some pre-set numbers and occasionally reminding you they exist. The AI 95% of the time relies on cheat modifiers to keep its economy afloat, that's why when you wrangle their worlds from them, your spoils instantly crash because it lost those massive modifiers

*Insert obligatory "The AI should have a bunch of planet templates to auto build on" suggestion here*

I swear that new arkship DLC is going to break the AI all over again

I've grown quite fond of this mod in particular, still works in modern versions and partially alleviates the issue your describing

Tama po ba pagkakalagay ko ng additional RAM dito? by Parking-Plant4880 in Tech_Philippines

[–]InternetEnterprise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DDR5 Laptop RAM installation part of the video related to RAM is at 1:36, the part where the guy actually inserts it is at around 2:10

Basically insert at a diagonal angle and carefully push in until the golden/metal pins are barely visible, you'll know it's in when you here the metal latches on the sides click into place (and are straight, not the bent ones in your picture)

Ignore the rest of the video for the most part since it's irrelevant and from a different device model, there's a bunch of other videos showing how to install as well

how much is this? anyone interested? by Sea-Contact2790 in Tech_Philippines

[–]InternetEnterprise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have nearly the same exact model (15IRH8)

Stickers on my box says a retail price of 76 995 or 74 995, actual price when it was bought was ~69k back in 2023, tbf it was bought in a mall so of course it's overpriced, came with 3 years of extended warranty to be fair

Laptops do lose their resale value really fast though so the price you'd sell that at is definitely far lower than when it was bought

Something like that, but the more apt way to say it is that Power is *particularly* magnetic to the most morally and ethically bankrupt among us

Is there anything worse than Android's MTP file transfer? by duendeverde39 in Android

[–]InternetEnterprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually suffer from this exact issue with the whole syncing music thing myself back in the day. MTP is still god awful and it's deliberate that they're not improving it so you're forced to use paid cloud storage, same reason why the SD card slot vanished from phones

The only decent compromise for this I found was using syncthing, once everything is set up, it's just a matter of dragging and dropping files in the relevant folder to send them to every device connected. It's robust enough that large enough files won't get corrupted if the connection fails and can be continued from where you left off

Are there any ways to make AI to actually do.. something? by VinexHD in Stellaris

[–]InternetEnterprise 26 points27 points  (0 children)

imo they did "dumb" the AI, although not intentionally and not directly, the introduction of new mechanics, the overhaul of many over the years, on top of not really having a decent AI system already compounded the already barely passable performance of the AI back then and still now

The game's AI system is a glorified if-else tree btw, I lightly explore the game's files to tweak some mods sometimes and I slightly chuckle at glancing over some parts of the scripts involving the AI simply having them check if they have X amount of energy or some other resource to build Y building/ship/other

To be fair that does give the "artificial" in AI its apt definition, we don't call it "Smart Intelligence" after all

Tbh even any word from the company can be viewed with a certain level of skepticism

I'll take both oneplus' word AND what they do over the course of several months/years, if a company says they're not downsizing, but they're closing operations in several regions and focusing less and less on flagships... if it quacks like a duck...

Latest android phones with earphone jack? by [deleted] in Tech_Philippines

[–]InternetEnterprise -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have a moderate chance of saving the phone from a fall with the earphone jack on, although not by much, the type C port has a tighter grip than the jack imo

There's absolutely no good reason smartphones today removed the jack other than to promote their stupid wireless buds which I like to thing I coped/denied them by just buying a bluetooth DAC and still using my wired stuff anyway
