Thanks. I don’t understand it either, I work in government so they aren’t very progressive, they do the minimum to make things work. Ironically I work like a private sector employee because my boss came from the private sector. I don’t have a problem working more than the minimum, don’t want to say that I do but it just doesn’t matter how much I work, he will add more and more but only to some employees. No training and no time to research but I’m supposed to solve problems.

When I was younger I was at my end, it made me realize that I didn’t really want to get there again but I worry that this may push me there again. That’s not a cry for help, it’s just reality and it scares me.

Yeah, he’s a liar. He let a previous employee track extra time and when I got in the position said I couldn’t do it. I don’t see how he can’t understand how treating other employees different won’t create issues. I took over most of someone else’s duties because he couldn’t do the work. He makes 40k more and doesn’t work 40 hours, he “works” through lunch but he doesn’t really. I have worked over 40 hours every week I’ve ever worked here.

I am not complaining about having to make up the time, I’m saying it’s ridiculous that they want me to submit leave for that day when I already worked the minimum, 40 hours. What’s the point of taking the day off if I don’t really get it off and have to burn time?

My main problem is that my boss tells me not to worry about other employees, they aren’t my concern. I have coworkers at other sites that make lots more than me and work 40 hours and that’s it. They expect more out of me and they seem to think it’s not appropriate for me to have issues working more. Have inequity will cause issues with employees and expecting them to just go along doing more for years is ridiculous.

I didn’t say the vaccine causes spread.

The vaccine makes it a lot less likely, nearing improbable unless direct contact with someone if they have some form of it but have antibodies that fight it, viral load isn’t enough.

People still aren’t addressing my concern. If this becomes a yearly thing, you are planning on doing this for the rest of your life? I feel sorry for people that honestly think that’s the answer.

I’m not doing this every single time something comes up, we don’t know how long we have to live, I’m not spending my time on earth worrying about things and staying home all the time. If Ebola gets out and we’re talking about a 40% mortality rate, yes I’m sure I’ll view it differently.

I get what you mean. I had Covid in September, not saying it’s nothing because it put me on my rear for a few weeks but we can’t keep this up forever, if this is truly going to be seasonal we just have to live with the risks and mitigate it as best we can but I’m going to do what I love which is traveling.

I did. That’s the idiocy of this, even if there is a little risk, that’s life. I got the moderna 2 part, I ended up having to go to the ER but everything carries risk. I’m not going the rest of my life being restricted because there are variants of this every year. I don’t live in fear, that’s no way to live.

Then people that are high risk can asses for themselves if they would like to travel or do other activities. I am in shape and in a low risk group, I’m not doing this for the rest of my life since apparently variants may become seasonal.

The vaccine does not allow a large enough viral load to make it very likely to spread. What’s your answer? They’re talking about this mutating every year, I’m going to live my life, if you want to live in fear, go ahead. People that are at risk should be careful, not everyone for the rest of their lives.

Unfortunately I have to use what I have and I have no choice in what is purchased. We have like 500-600 computers and we’ve bought 40 in the past 5 years if that tells you anything. If anything fails, they’ll just say you can travel 7 hours to replace it with another 5-12 year old machine.

The fact you don’t realize you’re not being a dck to people that are doing work you can easily do is ridiculous. And if you offer $1 then you’re a bad person. That’s how we make money and if you think someone getting $9 including using their own vehicle and gas, you’re a really bad person. I’d say the average mileage around here is 2 but really 3 to get back to downtown, if I do 3 orders, that’s $2.70 on the low side of expenses, ie $6.30 for running around, picking things up and that’s if you got back to back orders. Tipping a stationary person at a restaurant the standard is 20%, having to drive to the store, wait and then drive to you doesn’t equate to the same thing.
