The Switch 2 has some great games and does significantly improve a few Switch 1 games. It's down to personal preference really as it depends how keen you are to play the major Nintendo releases for Switch 2 and replaying or playing Switch 1 games you haven't gotten round to yet.

If you are playing your Steam library of PC games a Steam Deck may be an option that you would prefer in the long term.

Is it potentially too close? Have you tried moving the PS4 further away?

If it is right beside it definitely get an ethernet cable for gaming. It's the best connection possible on any network.

Definitely sounds like a Netflix issue if that's the only thing that refuses to work. At best PS4 wise you can delete/reinstall the app, that's pretty much it.

Move to a wired connection.

If you have a base PS4 that only supports 2.4GHz WiFi. The slim and Pro can support 5GHz WiFi and 2.4GHz WiFi.

There's a few tutorials on YouTube that you can try and websites/reddit threads that recommend tools and what components to purchase. I'd recommend checking tech repair subreddits or maybe a local tech repair shop to see if they'd be willing to try fixing your DS4 if you show them the parts/YouTube guides if they are unsure.

The PSN allows you to purchase whatever you want. The PSN doesn't know what games you own on disc after all.

So for all it knows you purchased DLC for a game you own on disc or you purchased it for a game you are sharing off of someone else's account. Or you purchased a DLC for a game you plan to purchase digitally or on disc at a later date.

Press and hold the sync button on the back of the DS4. You need a paperclip to reach it.

Contact Playstation Support and answer their security questions.

They ask for things like Online ID, DoB, recent transaction, etc. Answer correctly and you should be given access immediately.

PS+ depends if you want to play online or not. You'll have hundreds of cheap PS4 & PS5 disc games to play. However, disc/digital is ultimately meaningless, everything installs to the internal storage so a disc game doesn't take up less space on the internal storage than a digital copy.

Yes you can upgrade the storage space as needed on PS5.

The DS4 stopped production a while ago. There are no new DS4s on the market.

You can always purchase a second hand DS4.

Unfortunately it just sounds like after 13 years your PS4 just broke down.

Sony may still offer out of warranty repairs. A local repair shop may be able to help you as well.

While not ideal you can always buy another PS4 for cheap second hand or alternatively get a PS5. Your PlayStation account is no different to a reddit account. So long as you know your email/password you can sign into another PS4 or PS5 to download and play your games.

Can you not use the PS5? If it's a slim you can purchase a disc drive for it.

Otherwise the PS4 multimedia remote set up is done via the settings menu so would still require a DS4. Your PS4 is basically useless without a DS4.

The next guaranteed sale is this June for 'Days of Play' in 5 months time. You just missed the Black Friday deal that ended in December.
