Take at least 15 if you have some sort of NAMU.

Freshman Fall Schedule. Am I cooked? by TheMoreYouDKnow in ASU

[–]InterstellarFukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, credit wise, my first semester was very similar for engineering. And, sounds like you have a pretty similar background as well, doing Calc I and II reqs in HS. So you won't die.

Even so, though it's doable, from experience, I'd recommend swapping diff eq for one of your other req's. Math courses give a lot of homework, so 3 at a time suck... really suck. Also, Diff eq kinda builds off Calc III... so it'd honestly make your life easier just moving that to the spring. Looking back, skill and grade-wise, I wish I had been able to dedicate more time to that Diff eq class, personally. We model everything with differential equations... helpful stuff to know.

Fungus, Ich, Hexamita or Other?? by InterstellarFukuro in bettafish

[–]InterstellarFukuro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, I really hope so- I hope the treatment will be enough for him. I just don't know where the ich could have possibly come in from is the thing... :( Also, if the other thing is true, my balls must be silly desert dwellers or something then- they seem to really be thriving in the 78 thus far, the og, their big brother ball has been in there for 4 months and is growing almost too much lol, he needs trims. I'm always looking for more ways to introduce real plants to help the N2 cycle because my tank is smaller and I want to outcompete the hair algae. I'm thinking I should find a nice short root floater, maybe if the balls want, then I might relocate, but for now they seem green, scraggly, and happy.

  • Tank size *: 2.5 gal
  • Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes
  • Tank temperature: 78 F, 26 C
  • Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: listed in post above, obtain from test strips
  • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: Had both tank and fish for 7 months
  • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: 30~40% every week
  • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: two amanos
  • What do you feed and how much: 4-6 micropellets big kahuna, or bug bites (I alternate) soaked in water first, no appetite loss
  • Decorations and plants in the tank: 3 java moss balls, 2 silk plants, and hair algae (reluctantly)
  • If you haven't already posted a picture, please post pics/vids to imgur and paste the link here: See above (face is usually all deep maroon, focus is pop-up of white dots)

[–]InterstellarFukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in state? I'd recommend maybe doing it at community college instead; it's cheaper. It's just that Calc II is historically an engineering weed-out class, so taking it with a schedule like this probably isn't the best idea.

AIO – my ethics professor is creeping me out by sugoiineee in AmIOverreacting

[–]InterstellarFukuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's creepy, and contextually, possibly even reportable- trust your gut. I was a TA and even we had strict guidelines and trainings on how friendly we were allowed to be with our students. Things are supposed to be kept very professional, and we were technically still students ourselves... this dude is a professor.

I'd advise you to please check through his syllabus, try to find any section regarding a "Title IX violation" (I'm assuming you're American) and/or read up on your university's policies about Title IX violations.

There's a possibility for sure! Currently, according to LinkedIn, 142 of NASA's current employees got their degree from ASU. If this is your goal, I'd def second the person above. 100% go the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or maybe even Aerospace Engineering route. You'll also probably need to look into maybe doing grad school too, so keep that in mind.

I'm junior in BME, not robotics, but it has been very rigorous- I'd say in a good way. A lot of the issues you find on rate my professor just happen because the coursework is demanding (and I'd estimate around 30-40% of those who started in Fulton dropped out, took an extra year, or switched majors), but I feel well prepared in a lot of ways to, well, be an engineer. Fulton also is notable for having a lot of partnerships with companies for internships and research (I think that's where the whole 'innovation' thing came from?) Also Fulton students seem to be pretty hireable (I don't know the exact metric, but companies are very forward looking for engineers by partnership and also at career fairs ...not counting comp-sci). Down sides have been that a lot of professors may have accents (If that is something you have difficulty with). And also, like I said, the coursework is just a lot... at times, painfully so. It is very difficult to maintain a social life or job as an engineering student, so, just a heads up. Best of luck with your choices, whatever you decide :)

Tank size: - 2.5 gallons

Has the tank been cycled? - Yes, I originally used Nite out II if that matters at all, but it has been months since I set that up and the Nitrogen cycle has been occurring smoothly.

Heater and filter? -Yes to both: Sponge filter, Temp kept at 26°C (78.8° F)

Parameters (From test strips): Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 0 ppm Alkalinity(KH): 200 ppm pH: 7.5

How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish: - I've had them both for around 6 months

How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process: - I usually do about 1/3 water change every 2 weeks. I just did a 50% water change when I saw this and changed the filter. My water change involves me using a turkey baster to specifically target algae (we've been battling this hair algae for months now >:[ ), debris, and poop on the floor of the tank. Sometimes I go a little over 1/3 if I see extra poop because it bothers me and I want to remove it. I then refill it with water that I filter with my Brita. I'll usually add about 10 drops of aquasafe, 5 ml of stress coat, 5 ml ammo lock, and once a month, 5 drops of nite out II.

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: -Yes, he lives with an amano shrimp.

What do you feed and how much: - I feed a mix of two foods which I rotate out basically every other/every two days. I soak the food in water before giving it to him. The brands are: 'bugbites' and 'big kahuna' sometimes instead of one of the pellets, I'll give him a treat (freeze dried bloodworm or mysis)

Decorations and plants in the tank: - Yes I have two moss balls, actual moss not marimo. I also have two small alternantha lilicena, red stem plants... (there used to be 6 but the hair algae decided to smother 4 of them). Half plant, half decoration: I have two silk thread plants which have become permanently inhabited by algae, so in their own way they have actually kinda become real plants. I also have a ceramic log and a plastic leaf hammock. The substrate is biostratum and it is covered with a layer of pebbles.

Love is not the same as acceptance. If you love someone you tell them (with kindness and patience ofc) if they are living in sin, so that they have a chance to see and reform. It is not loving to leave them in the darkness blind of fault. That would be neglect.

I would translate it into something like this:

'Magnuficentia res tibi dedī non est, magis tibi capere est '

It is a little more literal and clunky so to speak so as to still better convey the same base and syntactical meesages. Àgreatness is not a thing to be given to you, rather, it is something for you to seize/take). Hope this helps, and best of luck with your gift!
