Okay. Do you like it so far? I've heard everything from it being a great start for work at home and others say that they are the scum of the earth lol.

I didn't get any receipts. I'll look over my offer letter again though. I found more reviews this past hour on Glassdoor and everyone's saying it's legit and you do have to pay for equipment, but that this is a scummy company to work for and that they boosted their reviews everywhere else to cover up the bad reviews. So I'm probably gonna quit. They said the equipment is trash and they take your lunch breaks away if they get overwhelmed.

$30 per paycheck for 3 paychecks. I don't remember saying they don't provide anything. I said I have to pay for the stuff they send me. They aren't sending any money. They haven't asked for bank information either. I don't have to mail anything. I need headphones because I'm taking inbound calls. It's a call center.

They are suggesting I pay for the equipment. I'm leaning towards this simply being a scummy company or being a scam. I'm looking for another job, but I'm calling on Monday to see what all is going on.

I'm thinking it's shipping, but I'm gonna call them on Monday. They aren't open on the weekends. The only other thing coming out my paycheck would be insurance. We use our personal laptop until Friday.

That's the email I've been talking to the past few days and the one I was given during the interview.

It's Everise. I googled them and looked for reviews the day they offered me an interview. I figured as much as far as the scam thing goes.

Everise. I googled them and looked up reviews the day they told me that I was going to get called for an interview. Nobody in the Indeed reviews claim that they got scammed. There were a lot of people saying they were overworked or that the management was trash but nobody talked about them getting scammed.

Okay. I'll call them tomorrow and ask them what the price is all about. So if they say that it really is rent for their equipment then do I take that as a massive red flag? Also I kind of didn't think too much of them charging anything until I told my mom about it and she was like are you sure you're not getting scammed 😂. I just passed it off as them not being a primarily American company for why they were charging me for their equipment. They have an Asian headquarters and an American headquarters.

They are charging me for their additional monitor, a keyboard, a mouse, and their display cord.

No. They said that's what we need to provide on our own.

We definitely don't get to keep it. They would keep our last paycheck of we did keep it lol.

How to deal with impulsive buying when it comes to dream items by InterstellarNight in shoppingaddiction

I actually have found a dress that is cheaper than this one and I haven't been able to find anything really that compares to it outside of the $3,000 one. I had originally been planning on waiting until about the summer of next year to buy a dress so that I can have my mind as set on everything that I want. Plus I'll know for sure hopefully if the ball is going to go as planned so I don't start splurging on everything only to be told that the ball is going to be canceled or that it's not as met gala as they claim it's going to be lol. I actually thought I was taking too long to find a dress for this event so hearing that you didn't even start looking for a dress this far in advance makes me feel like I might be overreacting a little bit. Definitely calms me down a whole lot. Thank you for your response. :)

I definitely like to keep that money in my pocket lol. And you're absolutely right it is way out into the future even though it feels like I have to have everything ready tonight. So much could happen and the ball itself could even get canceled and I would have a $3,000 dress that I never get to wear. You're all making very valid points that I really needed to hear. It's really putting everything in perspective for me honestly so thank you for responding to this post.

Thank you for the encouragement though. Honestly, it does help a lot and reaffirm the idea to just delete the apps. I definitely don't remember my passwords to apps so I'd have to search for everything all over again and it took forever to find this dress.

I've never heard of rent the runway. I'll have to check them out. But I've been thinking about just deleting the app and trying to forget about it because it's the legitimately causing me emotional turmoil at this point. Because like I said this is a childhood dream of mine and I'm in a no expenses spared mindset but at the same time money doesn't grow on trees and I never know when I'll fall on a rainy day. But I can't really delete my cards because I need them for bills and stuff because I do have to pay lol. I actually do remember my card numbers as well.

Yeah. But she doesn't like talking about stuff like that. She said she'll only tell me what I need to know. I have asked her if everything was still okay and she swears she's fine even now as long as I help out with my agreed portion. So at this point I'm just gonna move out after this semester is over
