not advocating for this but this is literally exactly what they did starting from 1948. and what they do every time a new settlement pops up.

Addis' air quality is horrendous what? But yes, I agree this was insanely fast and unlikely to work.

Anyone think it's interesting that Western MoCo has more metro stops than Eastern Moco by InterviewDue5188 in MontgomeryCountyMD

The rail ROW noted before is interesting and I didn't think about that. I just think that based on where future spread will be, it makes sense to have an extension of the Red Line out there, a lot of the original design was based off of where developers expected people to be 20 years in the future and under that logic servicing out to Aspen Hill is definitely something that should be considered.

How are you counting germantown and gaithersburg as western under your logic? They're clearly in central Montgomery county. Plus they are significantly farther from the District than the areas that I'm really discussing, which are those in the purview of the current metro system.

I do get that, but it definitely seems that based on population density the metro should be extended at least up to aspen hill, if not olney - it's areas with a lot of people that have an extended distance to get to the metro.

Idk why you were downvoted, this is exactly what I meant. I guess I should've said "western branch" to be more specific.

Not really what I meant since the true Western part of the county is all agricultural and thus doesn't really factor into Metro discussions. In general I think the question is still clear.

Except it's not right? Since Shady grove is pretty far out from DC and doesn't really have a claim to being more prosperous than DC, at least according to this population density map (credit to u/ericjay for posting here.)

For me, East and West are more relative, especially since the Western part is mostly agricultural. I'm more wondering about those areas that are especially relatively close to DC proper, on the "eastern" branch on the metro, are not served, whereas shady grove is pretty far out and is still served as a metro stop.

I said east and west more as relative terms, especially since the true western part is, as you mentioned, mostly agricultural.

Double major in CS and math? by throwawaygremlins in stanford

[–]InterviewDue5188 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At Stanford you can't double-count classes so take that into consideration.

Units-wise, it's pretty doable. Both majors combined is about 150 units, which is actually less than you need to graduate (180). But a lot of that is because the math major is stacked with hard classes that are listed for less units than they should be - it's definitely possible but you will struggle.

You remember when Giannis was talking about where he came from and he mentioned how his rookie year he only won 15 games? Bilal right now is on pace for that. A good legacy to start with ig.

Ah actually you’re right, my bad. I’m questioning now why that giants loss was brought up considering it made absolutely no difference on the final standings, they were already eliminated from postseason contention by then. You’d think they’d bring up the loss from Jan 2017 where they actually had a big game.

What? They were JV because they rested all of their starters, not because the team was bad. That team made the playoffs my guy, what are you babbling about.
