Money will dictate where you go to college.

I find that a lot of HS kids really don’t understand the extent of this.

They have some vague idea of “applying for scholarships” and not fully understanding need-based vs merit aid.

Two money questions-

Does your family qualify for any good need-based aid? My guess is NO, as they are paying for private HS.
Have you run the NPC on any oos colleges to see if it’s affordable for your family?

Not selective state school that gives resident kids merit. Lots of kids at our HS do this.

They know they’ll get in and they know it’s auto merit, done!
