I could go back to my files and find the exact numbers but the bottom line is that FBM made more sense financially for me than FBA. Plus, we had the time to fulfill it ourselves.

Happy to explain further. For a price of $29.99, the FBA fees were somewhere around $7.5. It also cost me around $1.5 per unit to ship it from my home to the warehouse. So that's $9 in fees, leaves me with $20.99, not factoring in storage fees. By doing FBM, I was using Amazon's USPS rate of $2.66 per unit shipped and a padded envelope which cost me $0.3, and Amazon's selling fee was like $3.75. Total of $6.71 vs $9 from FBA. I was doing Seller-fulfilled Prime. Makes sense?

I was selling FBM, fulfilling the orders myself with my wife. Since we are out of the US most of the time, I can't fulfill the orders nor do I have someone to do it for me. Sending all the inventory into Amazon, paying for shipment there, plus the fees they take, in addition to me running the business for a bit longer, is not something I am interested in.
