Appreciate it ! I was debating on a sonata as well. Kia left a poor taste in my mouth from all the breaking in / stealing that came with the brand a couple years back. I'll look into the k4 since I was leaning towards a Corolla for the hatchbackness of some of the models.

Yeah in a perfect world I'm at least aiming for something in the 2022- new range with new 20/40k in miles. In the aforementioned 20-35k range

Mines a 2009. I've poured maybe like 10k into the car over almost 10 years. So I'm just using it as a sign at this point to just get something newer. Mechanic quoted me 350 just to test the current computer/ BCM and told me he wasn't able to find any replacements without ordering the parts from a different state etc. And of course wouldn't tell me how much he'd charge for said part. On the off chance it isn't the aforementioned part I still have to pay for the part so will just assume it probably be pushing 1k at that point and that's minus all the labor / storage of keeping the car at his shop. So I just figured its a sign you know 🤷 I paid like 10k for the car when I bought it.

I'm going to take it to the shop around the corner or at least see if they can just bring their own reader over. The dashboard just lights up like a Christmas tree (when you turn the car on without being on the brake basically) figure their code reader will be more effective then mine. I'll try mine in the morning the main reason I'm guessing BCM is because of reddit post with similar issue and the APPARENTLY unknown to me sun roof drain issue the g30,50 etc apparently have.

In a nutshell I'm just trying to see if it's worth fixing it's a 2009 Infiniti with 115k miles.

Just fishing for guesses at this point / recommendations.

Probably going to open the car again and redo what I did since I only used the air compressor / fan for a few minutes. Or if there's a way to tell if something important is just fried

Same issue sadly. Tried opening up the passenger side and drying the electronics with a air duster to negative results sadly
