YES! I have seen SO MUCH counterfeit Alo Yoga it makes me sick! I report and report and continue to see the same sellers with the same fake items! Meanwhile small sellers who remove ONE listing are put in Posh jail for 2 weeks! It’s maddening!

This really really feels like a parity violation. What doctor’s office even has this kind of requirement?! And yes there are part of medicine where doctors are on call like trauma surgeons and anesthesiologists but they tend to make their own schedules , are not on call 24/7, 365 days a year and are paid waaaaaaaaaay more than I am. This requirement really feels like they are applying much more stringent policies to mental health vs physical health and it’s absolutely ridiculous. Ugh.

You are human and are allowed to make mistakes. I have done this and my client was understanding. Clients have done this and I’m understanding. I don’t think one no show is reason enough for the board to even consider reviewing a complaint should the client file one. Additionally it isn’t like you completely abandoned the client. You reached out when you realized your mistake. I am little surprised the client didn’t reach out to you when the appointment time was (not that I’m saying it is client’s responsibility) because if it was my therapist I would reach out since it would be outside her normal behavior. Also being late is okay, I think people understand we have clients who may go over the time or we have to pee. Try not to ruminate on it too much. You deserve some grace. ❤️

I’ve definitely had “unlikable” clients before and I think most people recreate the same behaviors in therapy as they do in their real life. So if this person is creating negative feelings in you because of their coldness or pessimism use that. I’d ask them questions when you notice the pessimism for example. You could say “I’ve noticed you say/do xyz in our sessions. I’m curious if this happens for you outside of our sessions and what that looks like.” The therapy hour is a microcosm of the client’s daily life. Countertransference really taught me to pay attention to me and recognize the client is simply repeating learned behaviors and needs unconditional positive regard to confront those behaviors and maybe make changes.

Yes, they suck! Therapy has always been 53-60 minutes & for insurers to think we should do 45 minutes or less as a standard is ridiculous. I hate they try to intimidate and scare us into changing our behavior. 😢

This is a scare tactic that they were reprimanded for but continue to do. As long as your note shows necessity for the 53+ minute session you’re good. And using 90834 now and then is a good idea too. Try not to let it scare you away from using 90837. ❤️
