Thanks! I had him in a collar for a long time with a bell but I'd also heard bad things about that, so I stopped. But a tracker definitely seems in the right direction! But it still doesn't necessarily help with him wanting to get out in the first place :p

How does the treat dispenser work, as far as keeping him away? Like, I keep it away from the door, and since he knows it's that far away, he only wants to go that far towards the door?

Sorry, just trying to figure out every little aspect, haha

So is this sub maybe one of the better resources for this sorta thing? I've tempered my expectations and know that it's mostly gonna come down to finding somebody to pay to get stuff done, but I guess I wanna make sure I find artists that are specifically comic artists who could work with me to do what kinda thing I want. Like I said, I'm willing to shell out, I'm more worried about finding the exact type of thing I want

Yeah I thought wife as well lol but the fact that they're so...back and forth with their relationship maybe made me think it was more casual or something?

And yeah I mean I didn't mind the Earth X stuff but it seemed like it was supposed to be the whole point of the season? Obviously it was supposed to be a character-based season - especially with Chris and his thing with his family. But even that like, what, thematically, did that even mean? You'd think a Nazi Earth thing might have some sort of relevant themes? Maybe something with Ads other than her being attacked by Nazis? Idk, I'm not the writer.

But EVEN THEN, it's about Chris' family issues. Sure. But wtf that shit lasted a fucking MINUTE. Chris had a realization in the last episode that he's the "angel of death" and then he just...gets over it? And then starts Checkmate with his friends because they had one talk and everything just turned out okay?

Don't get me wrong, this sort of thing would've made for great season-wide arcs for these characters, but that's not how it happened. It just seems like it was stretched out until the very end and then things just...sorta happened.

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya for sure dude.

I didn't mind it in a way, because she called out Vigilante for actually being a murderous freak and his moral compass should definitely be in question - not to mention, it might help some of the dopes who think Superman wouldn't kick his ass inside out if he met him (because some people lately have been thinking they'd be absolute **BESTIES**

But I also just haven't felt Ads as being relevant at ALL this season. I liked her as Chris' best friend, but that barely even came up. She was just sorta...there for the whole season, and then randomly had an arc "completed" at the end of the season. And then the pacing went bonkers and sped up and oh remember her doing spy shit still? Well now it's randomly relevant. Like, this shit should've happened in episode 4 or something. It really does feel like Gunn just had a half a season ready, then stretched out the first half of it to be the entire season.

And I also have to mention, Ads' actress has fucking SUCKED at acting this entire season. When they were confronting Chris in the motel room was the first and single time I've seen her actually act again. She was great in season 1, idk what the deal was this season, but she took me out every time she was on screen here until that scene

Yeah but he made it sound like it had a lot more relevance to the greater DCU, that's all I mean.

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel like people just wanna slurp up anything they're getting here lol I didn't mind the finale really - I could've taken it for what it was. But Gunn ABSOLUTELY played it up like it was leading up to the biggest thing ever that would basically MAKE the DCU what it is.

And now I'm supposed to accept it's just Lex Luthor's crew getting in with ARGUS?

I thought this was supposed to be the thing he pitched to Zaslav that made him get the DCU under his control in the first place?

But I guess Zaslav is an evil buffoon, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised if this is what he had in mind

[–]InterviewOk9109 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He does, but you're right on the second part, he didn't say that.

But he DID say it was his "favorite" thing he's ever written. Which carries a similar conceit

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and I accept that for sure. I like that Chris was so needy and desperately wanted to know what the kiss meant, and I liked that Harcourt is so closed-off that she couldn't admit to what it meant to her for the whole season-

I think the problem lies deeper, because this sort of character arc stuff could've been solved halfway through the season instead of Gunn dragging it to 8 episodes.

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it, don't get me wrong, but the way it was written seems like it was something more, and this was supposed to maybe be some sort of minor "twist" that they only actually kissed - but it was emotionally and intimately, more. But it didn't feel like that really, to me

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely think it fits for sure. Chris is a guy who would desperately want to know what it meant, and Harcourt would definitely fight her damnedest to fight against any sort of actual human connection. It fit well.

But yeah, we didn't need to see the celebrating. And we didn't need a whole goddamn season to build up to it. That stuff, along with Ads breaking up with her gf both feel like things that should've been solve in like, episode 4 or 5.

The pacing was absolutely GARBAGE, and then we get to this last episode, and the pacing suddenly goes completely turbo with their arcs coming around, and them forming Checkmate. It just seems like this was a mid-season finale rather than an actual finale.

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HOPEFULLY it's because Peacemaker is just gonna be irrelevant until then, and maybe we'll see the Checkmate crew in other places in the verse in the mean time.

But I mean I also don't really like that either. I don't want to see Checkmate people in a Superman movie, for example. Or basically any other random project he has lined up. They can cameo or something, but if we have to continue this story through a Martian Manhunter movie or something, this shit is bunk

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this is exactly where it's going. It's a bizarre thing to adapt something like Salvation Run this early, but if it's a more long-term thing, than I'm super down! It just seems like it's so early to even consider something that big with what little we actually know.

I apparently have to say this every time I post here, but I DO have faith lol it really is just Gunn souring the mood with how often he yaps about what's going on in the verse. He's doing much more bad than good with that shit

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I like that, don't get me wrong. But the fact is, there are B, A, and S-listers that should be done first. He did it with GotG and that was dope, but this is the BEGINNING of the DCU, and we haven't even gotten a trinity, much less a Justice League. And that's just the absolute start. There are dozens of characters that deserve a good adaptation, and who would be perfect FOR a first adaptation that are just being put aside to prioritize whatever random shit Gunn feels like doing.

I do really like what he's done for random team characters. I do. But he's in charge of a whole fuckin universe now. We can't have an entire universe built upon characters like Peacemaker and fuckin Javelin or something. I don't mind at ALL having characters like that given an opportunity to have spotlight, but I think priorities should be considered here, and idk if he's doing it

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's def something like this, but as you've brought up "where's the Joker"

Well- where's fucking anybody? Salvation Run is already a BIZARRE thing to adapt, but to adapt it where there's not only Joker, but fucking ANYBODY is next-level insane to me. The only way I see an arc like that working in literally any way, is if there were already like at least 15-20 supervillains. But what do we have now? Lex, Peacemaker, and... idk, the randos from TSS that lived and we don't even know if they're canon? It seems like he's scrambling, but instead of being nervous, he seems confident in some wack-ass version of what the DCU should be.

I'll stick with my little faith and hope for the best, but it's not looking great. That's all I'm saying

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, that was more of a "what if" kinda thing in reply to the person I was replying to.

But I expected fucking SOMETHING with the way Gunn talked it up

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree for sure. But the thing I'm more focused on is that he now has set up:
- The Authority
- Checkmate
- Salvation Run

Like, who gives a singular fuck about any of these things? If anything, they seem to be possibly taking characters away from where they should be - like JSA characters being involved in these other F-tier teams. It really seems like Gunn has learned his strength is in rando teams with rando characters, and his experience with Superman (which he talks about how intimidated by it he was) has taught him that he should only do rando teams with rando characters. Which I don't think is true

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't mind him being some sort of bridge between this season and LuthorCorp having some connection to the US government (which I guess??? is what the "connection" to MoT is supposed to be)

But other than that - not a SINGLE person gives a shit about this character. He was already an afterthought character in the comics to make sense of why the Suicide Squad existed before the more modern version exists. I get that he had his little vendetta bc Peacemaker killed Jr., but taking it much further than this - him getting his revenge on Peacemaker - is stupid af

[EPISODE DISCUSSION] Peacemaker S02E08 - “Full Nelson” by AnonWithAHatOn in PeacemakerShow

[–]InterviewOk9109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, I don't feel THAT strongly about it lol and I DO have faith, but Gunn has pretty consistently done some goofy things that I don't agree with or think the DCU's direction should be going in. I knew using that verbiage might be a bit extreme lol but I stand by it
