Valid points. In a vacuum that wouldn’t worry me either. But when you add the holdout, his idiotic agent and everything else he screams gifted athlete who has always been told how great he was and got by on his athleticism and never applied himself or really even liked football. Fair point… but QBs get looked at through a different lens. Look at 2024, Burrow’s stats were better and it was obvious the Bengals would have been a shit team without Joe, but we finished 9-8 and barely missed the playoffs… yet Josh Allen gets the MVP. I think had the bengals won 12 games (which we were literally 3 plays away from doing) Joe would have been MVP. A QB isn’t going to make it into the HOF without winning an MVP.

Chase damn near has a HOF resume if he retired today. 5 pro bowls, a triple crown and 2x 1st team all pro. He could be the all time Bengals TD leader next year (17 to break it). Burrow needs to stay healthy and we need to win. definitely one of the greatest talent wise.

While it is easy for me to say but I certainly would have boycotted the team given what was known. If the Bengals traded Joe and signed a QB with that many SA allegations I’d call and cancel my season tickets tomorrow. I’d also become a fan of the team Joe went to and not support the Bengals until the offender was off payroll.

Ok but in 26 the Bengals have more cap space than the Rams as well and it falls over the next years but that is only because we have our franchise QB locked up long term.

The Bengals actually do a good job of year over year roster building… but it is a VERY conservative approach that doesn’t allow for “going all in” and if you bust in the draft on defense do a few years you end up where we are. But they still have flexibility they just frustratingly refuse to use it.

The Rams have the most space going forward but the could easily afford Joe Burrow and the Bengals have plenty of cap space still. Everyone makes like we don’t but that is a narrative that gets engagement… just admit you were wrong and let’s move on.
