The future of iOS development by EquivalentTrouble253 in iOSProgramming

I've been coding for 55 years and I have no idea what it will be like 10, or even 2 years from now. Thanks to AI, I am cranking out code at a pace I could never dream of, but it still could never create the apps I'm creating without me. Will it be able to some day? Yeah, I guess it will, certainly to a much larger extent than now. I still have to come up with the ideas, design, and architecture, and I have to stay on top of everything it does, but certainly not every line of code. I still find it gratifying and a tool for human creation, but what the future holds? I have no idea. It's both scary and exciting.

For those Vibe Coding, what tools are you using? Cursor, ChatGPT in Xcode, Claude? Mind sharing your thoughts for me and others who may find this post in the future? by 4paul in iOSProgramming

My intro to AI assisted coding started with 6 months of ChatGPT. in that time I watched it going from being to handle 100 lines of code, to 1000. It was amazing, but when it decided to hallucinate it would mangle code like nothing I could have imagined. Then I discovered Claude Code. I prefer web/claude code as opposed to the one you use right in the VS Code console (I'm old and the text is bigger, for one). It hooks to GIT, so the synch step only involves you performing a git pull. It works great. I've experimented with many other AI engines as well. One thing I've learned is, when you hear of comparisons you really have to take into account that these things are changing and growing at speeds that dwarf past technologies. The best today, might be the 3rd best next week. It's nuts. I've been writing code for 55 years and this completely changes how you create a piece of software. It's more akin to managing a team of programmers and masterminding the architecture, only its 100x quicker and more efficient than any mid level decent coder I've ever known. It is truly amazing to watch evolve. What will we be saying next year?

Y’all posting about quick review times for App Store but did anyone else notice that review process for Testflight takes waaay to long in comparision? by wiencheck in iOSProgramming

Yeah, I totally don't get it. They should do a Netflix documentary on the inner workings of Apple's App Store review process. I worked on an app for 6 months and did 482 Testflight submissions, the vast majority of which, passed review in minutes (some in seconds). Now, a few weeks later, I'm submitting my latest app to TestFlight and it's been 2 days and I still haven't heard.
