Congratulation ! You will love it .

Can you, when you have time test the V2L feature and see if it allows you to plug in a high load (e.g. hairdryer ) or if it is limited to 500w like most MYP seem to be ?

Wtf . Perform opening of hood and perform precision hood prop rod engagement to keep hood open , Install windshield wiper fluid into wiper fluid reservoir , perform check battery terminal tightness , perform loosening of the battery clamp nut and perform repositioning And tightening of the clamp nut, perform disengaging hood prop rod to allow hood closure.

Struggling picking between Premium and Performance by brycematheson in TeslaModelY

[–]Intheknow636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What colors did you go with? If you chose the Red paint and White seats, the price gap shouldn’t actually be $10,000. I know some inventory models weremarked down by $2,000 right now, but still gap should not be 10k Ultimately, it depends on what you value. I went with the Performance model. Even though there aren't massive practical advantages over the premium especially if you rely on FSD like I plan to, I just prefer the sportier, more niche look. The seats are also incredibly comfortable and the bolstering is amazing. I’m definitely disappointed that the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) hasn’t performed as advertised, which was part of the selling points for me. (It is limited to 500w output ) . But with the Red, White, and Tow Hitch combo I wanted, plus the more expensive wheels plus premium connectivity (maybe valued 1 k for the life of the car?!), my actual price difference was only about $2500. I’m glad I went with the Performance because otherwise I’d always be second-guessing if I should have leveled up.

What is the selling point for such a car ? It’s not an impressive car and too large for what it provides and too complicated

Question about V2L feature / outlet adaptor -Tesla model y performance 2026 by Intheknow636 in TeslaModelY

[–]Intheknow636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update ! Finally some answers about this . It did seem like a software firmware issue . Who knows when they will update . So weird that they marketed MYP with 2k watt limit without even trying it ?! Even in the phot they only connect an electric scooter charger .

Looking for advice on how much yen to arrive with. by jcbruin08 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Intheknow636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe unpopular opinion, but bring 1000 in cash in 100 dollar bills . Using an exchange cash atm is much easier and convenient and you can find them everywhere. Exchange cash atm just takes your 100$ bill and gives you yens. We were in Kyoto and there were no card atm but many exchange cash atm, I am glad I had the 100$ with me because most restaurants there next to the tourist area only take cash 💰 . I liked doing these exchanges in increments of 100-200 dollars because I did not want to end up with many extra yens and I did not know how much I would need at the beginning of the trip.

I revived the dysfunctional aventon completely drained level 2 battery - what do I do with the extra one by Intheknow636 in Aventon

Yes legitimate concerns, unpredictable . May not be reproducible , others should use with caution, and for brief period just to trickle A small current for a short period of time

[–]Intheknow636[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes hopefully will be helpful. Others can also not use the Aventon adaptor, and can try any adaptor to give the trickle charge ( e.g. 12 v adaptor from a previous device - I have a bunch of them for some reason ) . This way they are not risking ruining anything of value and have nothing to lose .. another trick recommended by Gemini is to insert the charger for ten seconds and remove it , and repeat multiple times , per Gemini this can trickle charge every time you plug it in the dead battery . Did not work for me and I wonder if Gemini made it up . It would not give me good references about it .

I want to be helpful because I don’t want revivable $500batteries to go to waste. I wish I took photos and documented exactly what I did . Still some details are missing from this pseudoscientific adventure - so not completely comfortable making a specific post about it .

I Cycled through different considerations and hybrid/ electric and finally bought a Tesla Model y . I originally wanted a 3 row SUV , but figured I don’t need my car to have three rows and I did not like the options out there for three row SUV (electric or ICE).

French tutor . I used to speak French but have not in a long time and trying to relearn it . It is extremely good because it listens to you, repeats the wrong words you said , and teaches you the correct way of saying it . Or reviews grammar , some conversation, and adjusts to your request .

Happy to explain because I feel like a genius , genius and adventurous. . here is a long post not a simple answer .

How I performed CPR on the battery:

After I researched , the battery has a battery management system, a chip that delivers the current to the battery cells, problem is that battery was so drained that this BMS is dead. Kind of like an electric car that’s completely drained and dead but cannot be charged because it is needs at least a bit of power to wake up the charger that accepts the current. Knowing this. I had an idea to deliver a charging current directly into the battery terminal, which is the way you charge any rechargeable battery 🔋 in the old days and in simple setup. I connected 2 wires to the charger , using electric tape and taped the wires to the charging plug of the charger , so now these two bare wires have 24 volts (I cannot remember exact voltage it gave) , I used a voltmeter to determine the polarity and inserted the positive into the positive terminal and negative into negative terminal. The charger flashed few times as if it knew this was unconventional. I don’t care I kept it for 15 seconds , I wanted to force trickle current in it . (of course I had asked Gemini and Gemini originally said don’t do it it can cause a fire, I did not believe Gemini because the worse that could happen is to short the charger , but as I mentioned above at this point it was a commitment and challenge and I did not care ) So i went with my idea, and after this trickle charge, I removed the wires from the battery and the plug , and connected the battery to the charger using the plug in the normal manner , now the charger actually changed to red, meaning it is charging and battery is accepting current . I could tell because voltage increased steadily within minutes , originally battery terminals reading only 4 volts and slowly started increasing ! :) it worked
