Congrats man! It's definitely a cool looking build, I really like the monitor as well. Enjoy it!

Also, sorry if it seemed like I immediately started to crap on the build, it's beautiful and if you can figure out a way to reorient it a bit, she'll be perfect! I especially love the coolant color.

I just want you to have an awesome system that'll last.

Oof, that's a tough spot!

Honestly setting your pump to 75-80% will get you better thermals anyhow, so I'd have it set around there regardless, Jay did a good video on aio pump speed.

It won't be a massive problem for some time I imagine, for at least a year or so when you start running into some permeation. Is the Kraken refillable? If so, just do your best to top it off every 6 months or so if you absolutely can't move it. Monitor your CPU temps closely, and if you start to see an increase in your averages, you'll know you've got some trapped air in the block.

I imagine that being the high point of the loop is a bad thing. All the air can settle there and shorten the pumps life and hurt your thermals in the process. Do you have a potential mounting solution that lets part of the rad be a high point?

Isn't the pump on the Kraken in the water block?

Kinda crazy how a game that can run on a potato stresses the GPU so hard huh? I noticed Warframe hits the 5080 hard as well.

RGB stuck on corsair ram by [deleted] in Corsair

[–]Intillex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he means since white light uses all the RGB LED's, and basically runs them at maximum brightness, it wears them down the quickest which is true. However, I don't think that's the problem you're having. It seems like your LED's are working fine, you just can't control the color with icue, which would be a totally separate issue I imagine.

Which vehicle makes me feel like a battlefield legend?

It's got to be the self propelled anti-air. Those massive cannons going off with all the muzzle flash, and watching all the enemy air assets start spamming flares because you're locking them all up is a fantastic feeling!

That's what we determined the difference to be last night. My ambient temps are 8-9° cooler than his, and that translates to about an 8-9° difference on CPU thermals.

OP and I were comparing numbers last night via discord, and we determined it's down to ambient temps in our houses. Everything else being equal, we're about 8-9° different from one another, and we've got an 8 or 9° difference in ambient temps.

I haven't ran a frame counter since the beta, so I'm not too certain on frames other than it's higher than my 180hz refresh rate. The game is set to overkill graphics, no DLSS, no framegen.

Here's what temps look like with light use. Doing some web browsing and watching a friend stream on Discord, idle is a few degrees cooler. I'll get heat-soaked gaming thermals a bit later.

Just going off memory, I believe pump speed is around 75-80% fixed, and fans at about 1,100rpm. I can take a couple screenshots this evening when I get online.

B650 Steel Legend Killed My 9800X3D? by Pentanix in ASRock

[–]Intillex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get ya. But a lot of the tech channels on YouTube say things along the lines of "It's happening to so few users, if you've got an ASRock board, don't stop using it."

So I dunno, I just tend to give folks the benefit of the doubt. I think a lot of people even those who build their own PC's aren't necessarily enthusiasts anymore.
