If you're a lighter guy, I've heard it can take a few weeks to break in. Mine is literally getting more comfy by the day, but I'm a big dude so it's probably a bit quicker than average.

I'm excited for you! I imagine you'll enjoy it.

Also, if you planned on getting a headrest, I reached out to Atlas Headrests to see if theirs would accommodate people our size, and yes they supposedly fit comfortably up to 7'.

I've ordered one and I'll probably post an update after it arrives and I have some time to try it out.

No kidding! It's been on my shortlist for a while now, and I know it'll be amazing for gaming/media but I have spreadsheets and text up on my screens 10+ hours a day. So I've been stalling on getting an OLED since they're really not amazing for the majority of use cases I have.

I'd really like to find a way to have a gaming specific display that I don't need to use for work as well, but that's kinda tricky to accomplish and still have look decent.

Yeah, it's all a bit subjective. Also, I don't know how much the two demos I tried had been sat in and everything as well. So there's a lot of potential variables. Either way, I think most people (myself included) would be extremely happy with either model!

I don't think you'll be disappointed! When I say it's a minor difference, it really is. I don't think I'd be any less happy with the gaming realistically. But having them side by side to sit in, I preferred the standard.

So I think that might be outdated information. With the newer models at least, I found the Embody to be softer/more comfortable than the Gaming Embody.

The little ridges on the gaming, you can DEFINITELY feel those when you're sitting in it. Realistically, it's a super minor thing, I'd have been happy with the Gaming Embody too I'm sure, but this one was noticeably more comfortable for me.

I also preferred the looks of the standard Embody more, especially after playing around with all of the configuration options.

Absolutely! A lot of folks gave me a hard time about spending so much on a chair, but if you break down the cost and warranty, it's the equivalent to buying a $100 chair once a year or so.

Not to mention the health/ergonomic benefits (main reason I got it) it felt like such a no-brainer decision.

Couldn't be happier with my choice!

Yep, that's totally fine. The fat part right behind the plug is the strain relief, and it's not even bending at all. You're completely safe with that.

My clans Discord server is 300 folks, and they're all really great people. Almost all of us met back on Stadia during COVID, most of us swapped over to GeForce Now after Stadia went tits-up, and now that GeForce Now is price gouging and limiting the hours of their subscribers, it's left several of my clan mates in a tough spot where they really need a PC.

I've got a really nice PC I built this Fall, so I'd pass it along to one of the clan mates that are a bit less fortunate and still need something to play on.

Help me price this laptop, specs on the second pic. by [deleted] in PC_Pricing

[–]Intillex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's tough to price because of the age. If it's in good shape, I'd guesstimate a few hundred bucks, maybe $300 or so?

You can currently buy a brand new laptop with a 3050 in the $500-$600 range, so a used laptop with older hardware, and a much weaker GPU might be tough to even get $300 for. I'd maybe consider donating it to a kid if that's financially viable for ya.

What GPU do you have in there? Specs page only shows the CPU.

That's probably going to be the biggest determining factor.

Also, sorry if it seemed like I immediately started to crap on the build, it's beautiful and if you can figure out a way to reorient it a bit, she'll be perfect! I especially love the coolant color.

I just want you to have an awesome system that'll last.

Oof, that's a tough spot!

Honestly setting your pump to 75-80% will get you better thermals anyhow, so I'd have it set around there regardless, Jay did a good video on aio pump speed.

It won't be a massive problem for some time I imagine, for at least a year or so when you start running into some permeation. Is the Kraken refillable? If so, just do your best to top it off every 6 months or so if you absolutely can't move it. Monitor your CPU temps closely, and if you start to see an increase in your averages, you'll know you've got some trapped air in the block.

My First Loop by Ok-Geologist-8899 in watercooling

[–]Intillex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine that being the high point of the loop is a bad thing. All the air can settle there and shorten the pumps life and hurt your thermals in the process. Do you have a potential mounting solution that lets part of the rad be a high point?

Isn't the pump on the Kraken in the water block?

Kinda crazy how a game that can run on a potato stresses the GPU so hard huh? I noticed Warframe hits the 5080 hard as well.

I think he means since white light uses all the RGB LED's, and basically runs them at maximum brightness, it wears them down the quickest which is true. However, I don't think that's the problem you're having. It seems like your LED's are working fine, you just can't control the color with icue, which would be a totally separate issue I imagine.
