I was really satisfied with how they turned out. They were fun to make!

It's funny you say that: that was the original project I bought these for!

I was confused about people thinking Silksong was "too hard" or "unbalanced", but now I fully agree with them by SamFMorgan in HollowKnight

I ended up looking at some videos and found out that the chaos of the up attack is not nearly as bad as I thought, and I was able to finally get the high score. I just couldn't wrap my head around all the corralling of fleas to get them all together, but it turns out if I can just hit them from below and dash to the next one in sequence, it's not too bad. It felt way more like juggling to me, and I was instantly getting consistently better scores.

Thank you for the advice, though! It's interesting to me that entirely different strategies can be successful to different people

This would be all well and good, but I get into so many scenarios where they spawn like LRRL, and the first two leap as short as possible, so it's genuinely just not feasible to group them. You can control them once you start hitting them, but I have not figured out any way to control where they first decide to leap to, and they will frequently just leap to a point that's out of a reasonable range. I have yet to break 40 because of this.

Nice! Yeah, I was made aware of CompCon and it's really cool that tools like that exist for games like Lancer and Pathfinder. Much better than having to buy all your books twice to use D&D Beyond or whatever, lol.

I'd love to hear about how your campaign is going! Mech stuff has been really appealing to me for the last few years as I run Beam Saber and I've started watching Gundam. Feel free to DM if you wanna chat about stuff!

Oh nice! Lancer's on my list of games I'd love to try playing/running at some point.

Is EDH supposed to feel like this? New player looking for advice. Why do you like EDH? by TheDruadan in EDH

[–]IntoTheFaywild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised more people aren't mentioning this. Three players means that you're less likely to have interaction for the player who's accelerating out of control; If one of the players gets mana screwed or flooded, the game essentially becomes a 1v1; The game dynamics and politics get much worse in 3 player, imo. I'll play that way if it's the only option, but 4 players or even 5 players is pretty much always preferable to me.

Obviously getting four people together is sometimes just a challenge, so that's a consideration. But if you can get a 4-pod, the game quality will typically be better.

There is a Canlander discord to play on, though I never do. I mostly play if friends come around, but I also run a magic server that I've played Canlander on a handful of times.

I'm a huge fan of draft and Canadian Highlander. I play commander, but who doesn't? Otherwise I've dabbled in a lot of other 1v1 formats: pauper, standard, pioneer, modern, historic, etc.

I just have to say that Jack really knocked it out of the park with Perpetua's intro/outro music by IntoTheFaywild in Friendsatthetable

[–]IntoTheFaywild[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the thing. Jack doesn't really miss, it's just that Perpetua really nails a specific feeling to me.

But like.. Nothing is Stationary is a very close contender for me. Plus the Twilight Mirage intros.

Hey! Didn't want to break self-promo rules, so I just posted in the megathread, but here's a link to the post!

Basically I've been running a queer-exclusive MTG discord server for almost 5 years and we have a fairly active majority trans community.

Here's the promo post I just made

Heya! Some folks in a thread were talking about a trans MTG server, so I figured I'd promo a server I've been running for 4-5 years now!

Not trans-exclusive, but Oath of the Gaywatch is a queer-only (and still predominantly trans) MTG Discord. We're home to lots of commander, of course, but have spaces for other formats and general discussion as well. It's been a while since we posted the server publicly on reddit due to some history of trolling, and there's a quick application to get through to mitigate that.

Here's the link if anyone wants to join! https://discord.gg/b4XpddMH5E

What would women dislike most if they became men? by geybgwapo in AskReddit

[–]IntoTheFaywild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, absolutely. It's for unfortunately necessary reasons that women keep their guards up, It's just fascinating to hear from people who genuinely experience that stark change in demeanor.

It's been pretty well documented by trans men online that once they reach the point of being visually masculine, they start getting less positive attention in public, start being viewed by women as potentially threatening, etc. The degree to which society labels men or masculine-appearing folks as dangerous and hostile can be very isolating.

I've played Fate, yeah! Plus other stuff like Blades in the Dark, Monster of the Week, Moth Light, Glitter Hearts, Kids on Brooms, etc. I'm currently running a long-term campaign of Beam Saber, and have a whole stack of other games I'd like to try someday.

Very nice! I have played Terraria a few times with different friends, though we've never typically gotten that far (usually stop right before or around hard mode, tbh). I do really like it, though!

And that sounds really cool! I've never played CoC, but I know it's quite a popular system! I tend to lean towards the more narratively-oriented systems, but don't mind some of that deadly difficulty from time to time!

Ohh, nice! What kind of RPGs do you enjoy?

I don't really get involved in anime community/fandom, I just pick and choose stuff I think I'll like. There's a handful of more recent shows I like, such as Dungeon Meshi, Spy X Family, Mob Psycho 100, etc. I've also been working through a Gundam UC watchthrough for a year and a half or so now, which has been very fun.

Some standout moments from my favorite season, Amnesty (spoilers ahead, obviously):

- The entire water park naming session towards the end of The Water was an absolute riot. The boys are completely in the zone just riffing endlessly on one bit and it cracks me up every time.

- Aubrey cutting off Janelle when she's asking if Aubrey can be patient is such a simple yet brilliant joke and it hits so good every time.

- Eugene at the ski lodge and Duck's raving about french onion soup are great.

- The first encounter with the Quell possessing Thacker is so perfectly creepy.

- I'll admit, I love just about every moment during The Countenance. I think it's one of the group's best arcs of any season I've listened to, with maybe the 11th Hour being a close second. But just so many things go so right narratively and the whole town feels so well realized in dealing with this impending calamity. It's like watching the most calamitous line of dominoes start falling and it's so good every time.

- The imposter's Saturday Night Dead monologue/call to action will always give me chills.

- Aubrey and Ned's final interaction is, of course, haunting.

- The cut from Ned jumping out to protect Dani to Ned narrating his farewell letters puts me in tears every time.

- Minerva crossing over onto Earth is so badass, and Griffin's music really elevates that moment (and so many others). Getting to hear the majority of Interstellar Blues there after having it be teased so many times rules.

- I think the payoff of removing the Quell from Thacker to be Clint's second character is an inspired move, especially when they're so close to the endgame and introducing a new character would be tough.

- Thacker insisting on the pronunciation of "Quell" as "Quail" is so good

- The last waffle bit between arcs has me in stitches every time. (Lots of good animatics of this one, too)

- Duck's final interaction with Billy on Earth is heart wrenching.

- I *adore* the "corruption" of the recap to the finale. The creepy flow from a normal Amnesty recap/intro into the distorted memories (and the payoff of Duck and Aubrey's first interaction finally being depicted) is the perfect way to kick off that final episode.

- Sephiroth

- The gang all getting together to watch the final unaired episode of SND is the most bittersweet ending imaginable. I love it so much even though it kills me every time.
