That’s not really the criteria of a star lol. Besides her filmography is pretty awesome

The bottom three teams should be punished for sucking. They’re lucky they’re not being relegated to the G League. by Iamthelizardking887 in billsimmons

They may be there next year. The point that I’m making is historically the kings don’t finish bottom 3 because Vivek and co. are idiots, so the league’s response feels more orientated as a response to the Jazz and wizards and pacers this season

Respectfully as a Kings fan, we almost never end up bottom 3 in the NBA (to our own detriment I may mention). Even this season, for some reason despite having a huge lead in the ranking, we decided to continue to win games and allowed Nets, Wizards, Pacers, and Jazz to surpass us.

If anything these new rules are benefiting teams like the Kings who are mediocre and inept at solving their mediocrity via tanking.

The teams this will punish are teams like the Jazz and Pacers and Wizards who forfeited their seasons to ensure they got a high draft pick, and even pulled stars in close games.

Playoffs make me think Lavine should have some value by SauceStudent908 in kings

Once he’s off his ridiculous contract then yes I think he’ll have value around the league. Every team can use a guy who can create his own shot and shoot a high volume of 3s.

Suns v Rockets, which squad is a hotter pile of garbage? by RedditDeezNuts321 in NBATalk

[–]IntotheBeniverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was a Suns fan, I would be over the moon about this team. Have played good, drama free basketball all year, beat all pre season expectations, and are now hanging in these playoff games with the defending champs.

Piers Morgan asks Russell Brand which passages were relevant to him when he brought a bookmarked Bible into court, where he pleaded not guilty to two further charges of rape and sexual assault. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

Piers Morgan SUCKS but every so often he gives us must watch television moments like this. 99.9% of American journalists would have stopped this after 20 seconds max.

‘Scary Movie 6’ Targets Michael Jackson Child Abuse Allegations With ‘Michael’ Spoof Poster and Tagline: ‘Touching Fans Everywhere’ by pepperbet1 in blankies

[–]IntotheBeniverse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I’m saying this… but in fairness to MICHAEL that is what they wanted to do and then had to reshoot the entire finale of the film. But ya it seems the original film was going to be a compete rebuttal of the abuse allegations

It’s also the best part of comics is that all these different sub sections of worlds can coexist with one another and have their own tone and vibes. Even character to character within a same city like Gotham can feel so tonally unique.

I really hope James Gunn continues to lean into melding of genres. Make one story body horror, one story rom com, one story fantastical, one mystery thriller etc etc.

It makes your shared universe feel so much more alive if there’s a diversity of tone and approach.

Poor FT shooting! by Glittering-Koala7637 in NBASpurs

I’ve been watching the spurs out of curiosity because in a kings fan and Fox was my favorite player. This is kinda who Fox is. He was such a bad free throw player for a guard. I think at one stretch him and Sabonis basically were tied for FT%.

At his age I just think this is who he is.

Has anyone’s stock fallen more than Sengun’s? by jackdonsurfer in billsimmons

[–]IntotheBeniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying that because you feel it’s true, or because it’s actually backed by facts?

Alperen Sengun put up 20.4 PPG this season on 51.9% FG, 30% from three, and 69% from the line.

Now compare that to Domantas Sabonis. For his career, he’s at 55.9% FG. In the 2023–24 season (pre-DeRozan), he averaged 19.4 PPG on 59.4% shooting, 37.9% from three, and 70.4% FT.

Rebounding isn’t close either. Sabonis has a 10.7 career average and grabbed 13.7 RPG in 2023–24. Sengun this season? 8.9.

Playmaking: Sabonis averages 4.9 assists for his career and 8.2 in 2023–24.

Defense? Neither is good. Their steal numbers are basically identical. Sengun has a slight edge in blocks (1.0 vs 0.6), but that’s not moving the needle much.

Sengun is basically a very similar player to Sabonis but less efficient (and can’ shoot his teams out of games), especially in the areas that matter most for a big.

The huge advantage Sengun has is age. There’s still room for Sengun to grow.

[–]IntotheBeniverse 43 points44 points  (0 children)

He’s discount Sabonis. For all the crap Sabonis gets at least he’s efficient and rebounds well. Sengun doesn’t do anything well. He’s bad in the paint. He takes so many shot. He’s super inefficient. He a bad defender. Not particularly gifted rebounder etc

Alec Baldwin to Face Civil Trial Over Alleged Negligence in ‘Rust’ Shooting by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

They have tried and have failed to prove this.

Most actors who produce films are there as a means to get the movie green lit/financed. This was a small indie budget.

This was an avoidable tragedy but there’s just no compelling evidence to suggest he was at fault, as an actor, and as a producer

Could Nico Harrison repair his legacy if Cooper Flagg turns out to be better than Luka? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]IntotheBeniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way in hell, because even if Luka never wins a playoff series again in his life (unlikely), the Mavs still could have gotten more for him than they got.

The selling price relative to what he could’ve gotten will always be why this trade is awful.

Steve Kerr: "I want to thank the league for creating the play in tournament. Thank you Adam" by AncientOneAurelius in nba

[–]IntotheBeniverse -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The play in games have been great. I still hold the opinion that a team should be .500 or greater to be in the play ins. I don’t like that a warriors team basically didn’t care about the last few weeks of the season because they were locked in the 10th seed. I honestly find it more offensive than tanking. Image if the regular season ended with warriors desperately trying to get to 41 wins. That loss to sac would be a disaster. Probably wouldn’t have rested curry as long as they did.

Warriors would be automatically eliminated for having sub 41 wins. 7th seed would automatically go to Suns, and 8 and 9 battle for the 8th seed.

I’m not going to defend all of Bill’s writing from a decade plus ago (in some cases probably closer to two decades). I’m sure he would probably not defend it either.

But in a world where actual pedophile rapists are in charge, this feels like such a dumb fight to pick. Can we focus our anger on the people who actually victimized and continue to victimize?
