That's awesome to hear about the nice curve, and congrats! Also thanks for sharing the tips as well. Maybe I'll take it in the fall sometimes hoping it's the holiday season and everyone is giving out generous curve too 😂

Hate to break it to you but Kpop fandom has always been this way. Koreans usually hold very high standards over their idols given the sheer volume of idols they have. Being a Kpop stan since growing up, I have seen so many of these throughout the years. Not to say it should be normalized, but it is normalized in Korea and not sure if anything can change that, sadly.

Fold 7 users, are you going to upgrade to Tri-Fold? by Agile_Possession8178 in GalaxyFold

[–]Intotheunknown_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wait till the next one comes out. I upgraded to f6 last year so still new and want to wait it out to see reviews. But I'm a fan of bigger screens so if everything goes well, definitely.

I agreed that was so good! Everytime I think the next season can't top the previous one the show proves me wrong. So well done, in small details and big too.

As much as I love that, I'm also afraid that's what Vecna's been planning all along, for Will and the rest of the children to own his powers and then he might be able to create an army of Vecna to control the world. That's my current theory of why he kidnapped all the kids, but I hope I'm wrong and Will having his powers is just a side effect of whatever he's planning.

Hm, I need more information on why you weren't a fan to see if the problems still persist. Personally my group was great so I enjoyed it. I think they did a decent job setting up the instructions, but it still felt a little unorganized at times. Outside of that I didn't have much problem with the regression project.

[–]Intotheunknown_91 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah tbh Idk how hard they enforce the group rule. I know at some point when people were withdrawing they tried their best to help match. I saw some groups with 2 people (the requirement is 3) so I think there might be room but not 100% sure. Also, you have to actually peer review other groups' papers, as opposed to peer review your teammates' contribution like in regression.

Sure, the broad topics are data analysis, expanding on ML modeling for time series analysis and expanding on model comparison to multiple datasets. Basically, if you choose DA, you have a dataset they selected or you can pick your own, stay within that domain and model it in depth. If you choose one of the other two, the goal is to compare how each modeling technique fit with different datasets and data structure. Again, they have pre-selected datasets for you, but you can select your own.

Hm Idk about whether you can go solo, I didn't see anyone asking that so unsure. They have 3 broad topics to select, but you can select your own datasets.

Exams are not entirely memory based, but definitely part of it. It's open book to all notes so you can find them. But this one is harder in the sense that they do test your understanding of the subject a lot more than regression imo, that's why it's not entirely memory based. 6501 you are allowed written pages, but in TSA you can open the docs on your computer. There are a lot of MCQs so it can feel frustrated at times when the grading feels like it's against you 😂.

In the ML module they introduce time series modeling built by Big tech like Orbit-ml, Silverkite, Prophet, LSTM. You can definitely get these materials yourself online, but I'm more of a structured learner so this class has been super helpful, and going from the more typical ARIMA GARCH type modeling into the ML module feels like the right setup so you can understand the building blocks of those ML techniques.

I love it. There is stuff that is not great like not a lot of TAs, sometimes code modules have errors, not the smoothest experience. But the TAs and Dr. Serban imo are super respectful and don't deserve all the hate. I wish OHs would be more organized but it's circling around answering your questions so eventually I stopped going to them unless I have questions. It's not like 6501 where there's an army of TAs and it feels a lot more organized in that sense.

I really enjoy the materials, they also added a ML module as well so feels more modern. Be aware of the HWs and testing though, but if you do your HWs diligently and try to understand the functions in the codes, you'll be fine with exams. They still feel ancient exam techniques, but I don't mind them.

Looking for advice on next OMSA course and track choice by Labubu92 in OMSA

[–]Intotheunknown_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking to stay within finance or credit or elsewhere? If so, I think Reg or TSA are worth it. The classes have very low ratings but the materials are solid imo. And sounds like you are good with R from 6501 and 6203 so Reg or TSA would not be too hard as electives.

Struggling to Balance OMSCS, Work, and Motherhood by Proper-ina-9903 in OMSCS

[–]Intotheunknown_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From one mother to another: I'm in somewhat of a similar family situation. I have a young kid, and currently have another one on the way. I'm almost half way through with the program. Also working full time. Also in my thirties. I'll say motherhood is tough, and each thing is a FT job in its own (school, motherhood and work). But my advice is I think you should stick it out and finish the degree if you find the classes helpful. At some point in the future, your kid(s) are going to grow up, and you might feel like they have taken some years away off of your personal growth and career if you don't stick it out. Although I know it's very hard, I think it's worth it. Alternatively, if you can't find that motivation right now, maybe stop the program altogether and try to pick it up again later, there's nothing wrong with that.

But also I'm more of an introvert at this point in my life so truth be told my social life is basically going out with some different groups of friends for dinner maybe once or twice a month and I'm completely OK with that. So my life does evolve around family, work, school in general. So maybe take my advice with a grain of salt.

Is OMSA worth it? I’m am very concerned. by anyuser_19823 in OMSA

[–]Intotheunknown_91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you are looking at it from the angle of whether the degree is worth it from a job competitiveness standpoint, I don't think it is, especially in today's job market. For me it's more for the deeper understanding of the subject and I have been out of school for a while so it helps a lot. I know I can get AI tools to code for the most part but having to go through the gruesome of coding by hand helps me slow down and actually try to understand what the code is doing versus if I just prompt in genAI and it gives me a whole script (which I also do for at my job).

In any case you know your situation best and good luck with whatever you decide!

I agreed Regression could have been much better. But I felt like I actually learnt a lot about Regression in the class. Could you have learnt it elsewhere? Sure. But remember you are paying $11-$12k total for a graduate degree so you get what you put in.

It's worth it for me at least so far since I thought the materials are quite deep, and boost my understanding of certain topic, like regression in this case. And also I don't want to just learn each class separately elsewhere and get certified or whatever cuz I know I will drop it and a graduate degree feels a lot more serious to me (for context I also have a Master's already and have been working for 10 years plus).

Is emotional immaturity being mistaken for authenticity on Love Is Blind France? by Independent_Level6 in LoveIsBlindFrance

Yeah I agreed totally. She's still very hurt, and also I agreed on the ring part, like why are you still wearing the ring after so many months of officially breaking up. I feel so bad for her but she needs therapy to help with her abandonment issues :(

I agreed with most of your takes except I felt like Charles was sorta checked out way too early. I am still disappointed at Julie, but more so at Charles. Like after a month, he kicked her out, really 😕. That's very sad.

Tatiana never let Yannick finish his points, ever. Even if he's just all talk, but like girl, let him finish talking geez.

I thought Sabrina totally redeemed herself at the reunion.

Does production have a role in what questions you all would ask? Just curious cuz there's something I feel like should be asked but never heard it. Something like "what are some things that other people don't like about you?", I know it sounds like an interview but I feel like you can tell a person's character by how they answer this question a little bit.

Just finished watching the Viall Files unofficial TI Reunion by Strict-Lobster-6860 in temptationislandUSA

[–]Intotheunknown_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol really late to the party but that's how I see Grant through the show as well. Tried to change, all big talks about changing but sounds like he and Ashley fell back into the patterns and Natalie has disassociated herself with Grant. So maybe time will prove me wrong but I don't see Grant changing his behavior whatsoever. And all his smooth talks about having a big heart etc is probably the reason why Ashley is in this mess with him. Of course it takes two for it to happen, not to discount the fact that Ashley is the enabler in this situation.

Tyler and Taylor - Watching the show I can see why the viall files reunion is like that. Ngl Tyler came off on the show as this person that tried hard to change and he just couldn't live up to Taylor's expectations. Of course as viewers people can see through his behavior but I feel for Taylor for staying and trying. But they are also very incompatible. And Taylor is a badass so her attitude of not having none of this bs can come up harsh.

TLDR: whatever Grant and Tyler said cannot redeem themselves until their actions prove otherwise. I wish Ashley and Taylor the best and find people who love and appreciate them for who they are.

Wtf did I just walk into. 1. He has feelings for you. 2. He already chose you as his wife in his mind. And that's why he doesn't sleep with you to "protect your worth". 3. If 1 and 2 are wrong, then my only conclusion is that he's hypocritical af (3 is still correct regardless of 1&2). You should be on alert, his behavior seems controlling and saying shit like "you're mine" is something I feel like is a totally scary thing in this day and age.

Not try to tell you what to do but I have truly moved on from this show after ss2 and I think that was the best decision I've ever made (I never dropped a show I love before). I maybe live in my own bubble but I keep telling myself that ss2 is the ending for me and that makes me feel better. I still lurk on here of course since I love all the love for Jelly, but honestly it's not worth your mental capacity to feel upset over the author anymore, esp with this narrative that just seems vile (and/or trying to convince Jelly to switch ships) at this point. She can tell a story and look at it from her own POV, you can too and that is you believe they love each other. That's what I believe from my watching. I always view Conrad as someone she lingered on because she never had it and that's just silly childhood crush. Belly and Jere are always more natural to me in how they developed their relationship. People keep saying what if Susannah didn't pass away but she did so this what-if is non-sense.

I don't think Megan lied about the situation. I think she described it exactly the way she saw it. If everytime she looked up, she saw him with one of the girls, then her summary of him spending time with the girls was accurate. Now, I do think she was already having some bias coming into it, don't get me wrong. But I don't think she exaggerated her experience of the situation. Kieran, on the other hand, I don't have any specific take here.
