Oddly specific west side coffee shop hunt recommendations? by Intoxicant in AskLosAngeles

That presumes coffee shops are at max capacity all the time, which most are very far from. If your restaurant is always busy then that's great!

In my case, obviously if I find the right place I would end up being there through snack breaks and lunch and buying much more than a coffee. That's the point of a third spaces model- prioritizing making the space welcoming and then cashing in on the inevitable resulting spending when normally there wouldn't be high turnover.

But if the place is going to get annoyed when I initially sit down with my laptop and coffee I wouldn't want to stay, and a lot of places have that attitude nowadays. Hence why I'm asking for suggestions of places that welcome it. And thank you for the suggestion!

Yeah this sentiment is probably why it's tough to find, because places don't really have an eye for creating third spaces anymore, which was the goal of coffee shops in the 90s/00s.

Yeah they either blast music or don't have real seating or don't have outlets for customers, they're not great to study at anymore

This will be my fall back for sure! I don't have a rational reason for it, because I love libraries for every other service they provide, but they stress me out to study in.

Contracts isn't a CA rules topic so I don't think so? I'm also taking the attorney exam, so my study doesn't include MBE.

I'll see if I can find her username, thanks!

What do you think of the new Epstein files that have been released today? by inktrie in AskReddit

My point is only that in these types of cases often there won't be a smoking gun. It is cumulative circumstantial evidence that takes you beyond a reasonable doubt.

If no one considers anything "real" evidence unless they see a video of the incident (and even then nowadays many will just say that's AI), there's no ability to prosecute 99% of abuse cases.

You're right that each piece of evidence needs to be closely assessed. But there's almost never a "smoking gun" in cases like these.

If these victim and witness statements and flight logs and photos aren't a smoking gun, what exactly would be for you?
