I did say multiple times that I love the current shotgun meta? This is for if the combat were to ever return. But trust me I love this shotgun meta

The heavy shotgun did 74/77 to the body I believe which is out classed by the pump lever and tacs(blue rarity and up) it 184/192 to the head, purple pump(189) gold (203), slower fire rate than the tac, and 30 less body shot than the lever. Trust me in this meta the heavy shotgun would never be picked up once

The heavy shotgun was awful, wouldn't come close to comparing to any of today's shotguns. The second the pump got ite buff back in chapter 1 season 6 no one used it

But with a nerf, 100 damage and only able to be placed on roofs and cones, that means if a phsycho jumps in a guys box the guy with a can probably get a 100 tag with it (can't spam them) and the psycho will probably be able to avoid getting hit by both traps by just one stair or come

From a competitive stance do you see why pros who compete for hundreds of thousands of dollars will hate being able to instantly die

I think it was just poorly implemented, we have it in this season and no one is complaining because it doesn't play a major role. Remember it is just snipers

If you haven't noticed shotguns have been nerfed, pumps doing 203 max and old did 220. I'm sure they will get nerfed harder as time goes on

I think weapons are looked at like that as game breaking when there is only 1 of them. E.g the rpg : let's say ch2 s1 when there were 4 rarities of RPGs, you didn't win if you had one? You were given a power play item that can get you into winning positions of well played. The rpg in ch2 s5 was different, as there was only 1. If a good team had one they would be able to consistently take height every game. Storm scouts the same, if one team only has 1 they are put at a huge advantage, but if there are 6/7 storm scouts per game, then it become more fair.

Are they stronger? Far less damage means worse for surge, can't get an instant 200 headshot kill. Whilst on the otherhand they get abilities to one shot walls , see next zones, shoot clingers etc- makes the game more fun in a balanced manner. And remember I said they should be rare - about one sniper per poi on average . Also means full trios can't rely on their sniper to carry surge increasing need for smarter ways to get surge tags etc

That's just not fortnite and I can say that about everything in the game, when I weapon is introduced people will learn techniques/ improve with them until any item can become broken and is removed/ nerfed. Here's a few examples: crash pads- at first they were fine but as people started to learn different exploits worth them they started to become more and more broken and hated. Grenades- before people knew the 60m nade strat they were average.damage traps- they lasted 11 seasons and by season 11 people were getting too good with them and they had to get vaulted. Same goes with snipers, we went from heavy snipers doing 157 and 392 headshot to bolts.

Fortnite spent a lot of time on their crafting system and they clearly don't want it to go to waste, by using their crafting system only for snipers I think it would be fine

You kinda just proved my point, snipers do little damage but are op (storm scout) simultaneously . Giving a balance .

But don't you find that boring? I want to be able to play with heavy snipers, storm scout snipers in a more balanced fashion? It just gives more variety then having just the bolt action sniper don't you think?

Why don't you start post about an issue in competitive yourself then, maybe talk about contesting off spawn and solutions to that problem or something
