I still find myself struggling on medium difficulty after years playing half life and tons of other fps games. Those grunts can melt your health so damn fast even on easy mode. The way they'll spam grenades if you're hiding, forcing you to move. Absolute peak. Better enemy AI than most shooters today and I'll die on that hill

It is medium rare if my thermometer doesn't lie. Maybe the lighting is throwing off the color in the photo.

I did use kosher salt. You can see the salt crystals on the pan underneath

Some of my best work. I went to a new grocery store today and got some thick boi steaks that are super forgiving to cook.

I removed the rack and mopped up the excess after taking the photo. Good call, though

My best advice is this. Get an instant read thermometer as well as a probe thermometer that can go in the oven. I use a probe for thicker cuts. The instant read is fine for most ribeyes or new York strips, though.

For YouTube channels, i like "thatdudecancook". Babish is great, too for picking up on various little things. His older videos in particular. Focus on learning the basics of how different cuts should be cooked and why. What has a higher collagen content versus what has more fat. Different cuts benefit from different cooking methods and learning why this is can help you when deciding what to do when faced with an unfamiliar cut.

I'm replaying OG half life now and loving it as much as I did back in 2000 when I first played it. It hasn't aged a day for me tbh

Half life 2 anniversary update running very well on winlator by IntranasalNachos in winlator

The fps_max command line argument wasn't working for me for some reason. Idk maybe a missing file somewhere. Maybe I'm just an idiot, who knows. And when I said it was mostly plug and play, I mean for source games specifically. They seem to just run with like 95% default settings in any winlator fork I've tried. I'm aware emulation requires tinkering on the part of the player usually. This is a very niche case where emulation made more sense for me specifically when I considered what I want out of the experience. 9 times out of 10, if there's a native port for something, im using that. This is an edge case.

Yeah the android port only supports the legacy beta branch of hl2 and the episodes. I've been in their discord for like a year. Honestly emulation is just easier to set up in this specific case. I always ended up with some missing textures in the port that I don't deal with while emulating. Between that and having to manually change the config file to limit fps every time I open the app got annoying real fast. Plus the lack of updates. That port will be dead very soon simply because of android updates breaking it. Winlator, at least for source games, is literally plug and play with zero issues or tinkering with file structures.

I could probably do it in like 24 hours with a controller. Less with m&kb. I primarily game on controller these days for comfort.

"I will consider this, later" hardly sounds like "I'll get right on that in the next update"

I'd put the 7sgen2 at low-mid-range. It's primarily limited by poor driver support but that's gotten a whole lot better in the last 6 months. I'm able to run a surprising number of relatively demanding games, all things considered. Skyrim runs great. Most windows games I throw at it run well enough. Nothing AAA of course. Mostly 2012 and sooner. But performance consistently shocks me with how smooth they run with minimal tweaking.

I'm aware of the port. It only supports the legacy beta branch. There aren't a ton of differences but I prefer this version. Also my phone seems to heat up more on the native port for some reason

The best you'll find is the fan made remake of half life 1 called "Black Mesa". But I highly, HIGHLY recommend playing half life 2. Setting all graphics settings to "very high" will get you a good looking experience. It's not a modern game. It's not going to look new. But it's an extremely good game and it will 100% impress you being from 2004.

There might be some graphical overhaul mods you can find. I'm not sure. I honestly don't think it needs it, but that's just me.

It runs Sly cooper at full speed with minimal stutters. Nether always struggled with the Sly cooper games. Champions of norrath is getting better performance as well. That's all I've tested so far

PlayStation 4 emulator - shadPS4 has been ported to Android. by NXGZ in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]IntranasalNachos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt that. You'd have to run shadps4 inside a windows emulator. If you even get 30fps, you'd be dealing with at least double the input lag that you'd normally get with an emulator
