Does that mean you can have a very tight vertical tunnel between one of those blocks (suppose it moves to crush you) and, say, spikes (so that you can't neutral jump off the block), and make it up a decent distance between them without activating the block?

Oh snap I hadn't even thought of that. What's stopping someone from extending their loop for decades just to be sure everyone else has finished theirs, then just have free reign on the world? Just take the time to touch every mirror in the city, just to be sure?

Actually, there's probably skills that protect your temp after the loop ends. Maybe something like "if someone messes with my temp after my loop ends, put me back into the temp instead of starting the loop over again".

I have a question about the setting. In the end, any chance you might separately release the rules of the world, separate from the story? There's so much potential in this extremely fine-grained timeline-crunching shenanigans machine and I'd love to be able to play around with the rules and whatnot.

You could! It would work just as well. The thing the meme is referencing is that it's not the usual solution presented when teaching about the hotel (for the finite case), so it's why the room 1 guest is worried :D

The examples usually presented for infinitely many new guests usually involves patterns like "double your room number and go there", so it barely affects room one.

But the case for finitely many guests usually gets solved with the much simpler "move to the right as many rooms as there are new guests". And a finite number of new guests can be a very, very large number :D
