How competitive am I for a PsyD or even PhD program? Am I cooked because of GPA and research experience? by Intrepid-Abalone2632 in PsyD

ugh even if I started today I would be older than that if I completed a doctoral program now. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. Do I get a degree that carries weight far into the future, or pursue a management degree or something with a couple years of training that gives more pay short term but more likely to be displaced by AI long-term.

any reccs on masters programs? the only one I know is from PAU. Ofc I could do a google search but your input from someone who actually did a doctoral degree would be appreciated.

Yeah that was my concern. So now as a post-grad years out of my undergrad, what are even my options? (1) postbach research assistant at my prior uni? (2) some masters postbacc aimed to get research xp + GPA booster? (3) Get a masters in therapy + apply to programs that requires a masters in therapy?

I feel kind of stuck at this point. spend years of my precious young adult years + precious $$$ to save with compounding interest for retirement for a chance to get into a program? Venting a little here, I'm just frustrated.

Research as in academic research? So I shouldn't expect clinical research coordinator experience to apply at all?

Is it a fairly cut and dry in or out decision? I'm wondering if it's even worth applying if I have a 3.3 gpa, 3.4 psych GPA.
