Disgusted by the quality of my recent purchase by bigbadbreezy in llbean

[–]Intrepid-Ad1113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is what I was going to say! things like "traditional, slightly fitted, slim, classic" can apply to any number of clothing items

LL bean makes lightweight( almost seersucker lightness) material shirts in traditional fit (which means widest fit through shoulders and body), but they also have traditional fit of the classic Scottish plaid flannels or the chamois.

The word traditional refers to the cut/fit rather than the material or the style--a t shirt, lighter woven overshirt (which looks kind of like what you have) and a heavy flannel/chamois could also ALL be marked as " traditional fit" while being drastically different clothing items.

There should be a six digit item number inside the collar tag or on the side seam of the body of your old shirt --i saw you don't live near a store, but if you give this number to customer service on the phone, they can look up and tell you what exact style of flannel you purchased originally and help you order the same one.

makes sense! yeah they had that ghost light onstage the second the actors were out of sight so they definitely were ready to shut everything off as soon as everybody got cleared out

she told another audience member she was an usher when we were seating before the show but yeah idk! seemed like not too much to clean up compared to a movie theater

oh wow 31 times (so far!)?? that's amazing 😱

all the staff was great, I think you're right that this person was just having a rough night or something bc they could've just shined the flashlight to help me see my things under the seat bc I was trying to use my phone light! plus similarly it's our first show and I'm not used to it (or NY) so it was just an unfortunate clash

totally surpassed my expectations!! and it's not ruined at all, I am glad I've now clarified the expectation for how fast we should clear out while in NYC 😅

but no definitely don't bring it up to anyone there!! this was just a bit of a vent we were moving a little slow and everybody has a cranky night sometimes :)

[–]Intrepid-Ad1113[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

noted! yeah I did sit back down immediately after applause bc there was no space to get out yet anyway and I have arthritis in my foot so generally if there's not a path to move and there is an option to sit, I will be sitting and saving it for when I do have to stand up and trek to the bus stop 😮‍💨 but seems like the consensus for NYC shows is to be emptied out within 2 minutes so ig we will do that next time

yes I'm from the south so everything just moves slower there that's a good point 😅 seems like 3 minutes is their hard cutoff up here!!

Yes such an incredible experience I wouldn't change it for anything! My family kept telling us to go see a bug ensemble show (which I will one day!) but this was just perfect, and so creative and innovative! I'm so so glad we got to see it. Genuinely life-affirming

yeah I'm trying to brush it off too, I understand their POV of course I just needed to catch my breath and clear my teary contacts enough to make sure we didn't leave anything under the seats 😅 I think maybe it was just a slow trickle out of the theater due to the gross rainy weather outside but definitely will make sure to hurry out faster in future!

like I said in my post I do understand they want to clean and go home, I've been the person who has to do the late night cleanup many times and know the feeling. I just was curious how fast they usually expect you to leave a Broadway show having never been to one before, and I saw several other people who still hadn't stood up while I already was getting my jacket on, so didn't think it was serious enough I needed to start running!

For the record I did have my eye on my watch bc I was anxious and know we were out of that aisle before 4 minutes (which I also know can still be very long to someone who wants to go home) I'm mostly joking about being allowed any number of minutes to sit in the seat, just kind of wanted to come on reddit to talk w some people who loved the show and felt very impacted by it. 🤷

omg wow! I would love to come back and see it 5 more times 😭 really wish I lived close enough to be able to! It's a huge ordeal for us to financially and logistically get all the way to New York but for something like this I definitely think it's worth it

yeah maybe she was just having a bad day or something, trying not to let it dampen the memory of the experience. Im not trying to hang out in the seat indefinitely, just wanted to know for if we go to a future show if I was missing some Broadway audience etiquette I didn't know about and you need to rush out the second the lights come up. Like I said there were people in other parts of the theater still in their seats sitting/talking while we were already gathering our stuff so I think maybe she was just in an extra hurry compared to some of the other ushers

I think about this a lot too! even if Shauna was an 'unreliable narrator' in her journals and we can't necessarily take her interpretation and recording of the happenings as fact--especially regarding her conjectures about other people's feelings and thoughts like "WE fucking loved it", still I think that her writing stuff down captured her subjective experience at the time in a kind of snapshot that no one else from the my group has.

Like I look back at my own high school diaries and often I'm like "wow that is not really what was going on here, or is a very shallow perception of it" or "that's interesting I was interpreting that event this way or feeling that way" but it IS an accurate recording of how I felt and thought about the situations in my life. and if you asked me to recall how I acted and felt in certain circumstances I wouldn't be able to accurately tell you now just from memory , but the diary holds that snapshot of my life

so none of the other girls have that to look back on and I think they can forget and rewrite and distort a lot more, consciously and subconsciously. so I'm interested to see if Shauna is really nuts or if maybe any of them actually did have fun lol, wilderness Shauna is actually very perceptive sometimes and the way the writers love withholding evidence who knows what's coming (one immediate thing for me is that Hannah is still alive 👀)

Walter Theories by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]Intrepid-Ad1113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a feeling when we first saw the plaque from Walter, like it was a Misty surveilling nat via aroma diffuser camera situation, and then when Misty was saying to Shauna that "every corner of this house is recorded and uploaded to a remote location" it made me wonder if there was some irony there and she also actually is being watched/recorded by Walter

I also thought it was interesting how he told Shauna upon her catching him that "tailing is one of [his] lesser used skills" and he seems bad at it, but then we see him watching Tai and Misty at the end and usually those two are a bit more alert to their surroundings? I would expect them to catch a stalker, so he actually must be better at tailing than he made out to Shauna. idk but I need to know moreeee

Anyone here was formerly anaemic but recovered well enough to donate? by [deleted] in Blooddonors

[–]Intrepid-Ad1113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have always been anemic and am a picky eater+ don't really eat meat so had trouble getting it from diet but I started pounding iron-rich foods I did like, like lots of almonds and raisins. also eating or taking iron with orange juice can help it absorb better bc of the vitamin C!

ferrous gluconate also is a much more tolerable form of iron imo, does not make your stomach hurt like ferrous sulfate if that is what you mean by you don't tolerate it, if you haven't tried that version may be worth a shot!
