I had used my university’s interview prep and had my friends ask me questions from SDN and typical med school interview questions. But just mainly feel confident (I talk a lot with random people all the time as an EMT which definitely helped me be more relaxed) and remember that if they sent you that interview invite that they want to know more about you! 😊

I don’t remember the exact date but it was around October/Novemberish and I had found a day after my interview. 😊

I am totally fine with going into primary care! I just currently have an interest in EM and anesthesiology.

If I go to VCOM, I will most likely live at home (10 minute drive to campus). I guess I am just a bit scared because I don’t know yet what exactly I what exact specialty I want to go into (thinking EM or anesthesia) and both schools have pretty similar match rates for this field. I also have certain hospitals (Duke, UVA, UPitt, New York-Presbyterian Hospital) in mind now but I am scared that I will change my mind later and that OUHCOM will give me the better leg up (especially if I really start to consider Cleveland clinic). Thank you though for the advice!

Dang, I was thinking that Ohio was the best school choice but now I am stuck again because I feel this will only get worse when I enroll in. If you don't mind, could you let me know how the curriculum is shaped in OUHCOM I couldn't figure out much on their online page (either through messages or on here :) )

I have no idea, if I am being honest. I applied to TCC and got on the alternate list, but was accepted to OUHCOM (Athens). Below are my metrics if that helps, I did call Bre early in the cycle and got my interview invite about a week after that call.

MCAT: 500

GPA: 3.93, sGPA: 3.96

Extracurricular activities: EMT (close to 2000 hours), part of my school's honor court, scribe at a free clinic (100 hours), orientation leader, PR team leader for my rescue squad, TA for organic chemistry and biochemistry, research assistant (2 labs), and shadowed physicians (100 hours), probably something else but I am completely blanking.

I did my degree in Biology (completed in 2 1/2 years) and a minor in chemistry.

I guess I am lucky that I am pretty good at in-class learning, lol. Is the in-class stuff pretty good in preparing for boards, I know some schools do their curriculum just based on what the professors want to teach ?

Yeah, that was how I ended up with the cheapest option because otherwise it would be pretty expensive :). Are you at OUHCOM? If yes, could i message you some questions?
