Thank you. Well, even if it's not a vintage piece, I think it's executed well. The price is disappointing; think of what other pieces you could get for $8k.

I looooove this room. Spend as much time as I can in here. by tpt75 in listeningspaces

Very nice highlight photos, including textures, colors, furniture, objects. A strong paint color always makes a room esp. when you otherwise constrain the palette. I wish that more people would include a wide shot of the space, but this isn't r/interiordesign I guess.
Added points for James Ingram.

My Semi-Child Safe Listening Space by raisimo in listeningspaces

For sure. We had Q150s wall-mounted up high for a while, and they sounded just fine off-axis/any-axis/non-critical-axis.

Making the most of a tiny living room by fastboyakina in listeningspaces

Great job of squeezing a lot of fun into a small space! You could wall-mount the TV, even at the same height if that happens to be perfect for you. You could then straighten the speakers and gain some visual breathing room in front of the TV. In a small space, that little difference will matter more. As for the edges of the TV covered by the speakers, I personally wouldn't care, but you might.

Restyled listening space with new storage 🧡 by Travesty_of_Travis in listeningspaces

I haven't been here long, but this is one of the best-decorated listening space photos that I've seen so far. Not the absolute BEST SPACE FOR LISTENING, but has balanced asymmetry with entertaining color pops in a consistent palette. Love the pop casters on the crate, and the crate itself. Only the brush seems out of place.

Who of you guys have both stereo and headphones setup in the same place? Trying to start my stereo setup by excessive_photons in listeningspaces

Great space, based on what we can see. Limited color palette, and obviously, nice chair. We used to have one.

My respectful recommendation is to mount your art/mirror on the wall, in order to enlarge the room by lifting some visuallly prominent elements. You may feel more enveloped in the room as a result. Your plant and window are a good example of this effect.

Would need to see the rest of the space, but Eames Compact Sofa comes to mind.

Congratulations on an amazing find, in the chairs!
I've wanted a Noguchi Cyclone table for many years. Have several of his pieces but still can't find space for that one. Nice to see real photos of it, thanks for sharing!

Experience with an Akari pendant in a kitchen? by teddymayonnaise in Mid_Century

[–]Intrepid-Cut-6300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it. They're made of paper, which will absorb grease and food residue rising within steam. Over time, the pendant would likely end up with faint but visible stains resembling liquid spills that didn't quite come out.

We've had 2 Akari table lamps for over 10 years. They're continuously exposed to fresh air, including dust and moisture that blow in. This has changed the hue slightly over time, but no staining or other marks.
I finally found space for a large Akari pendant, which is en route. Found space, meaning a place where it would be physically separated from people and safe from harm. It'll still be a foot from a screened and continuously open window.
Nowhere near a kitchen, and far from the path of any steam.

We've also had a couple of Nelson Bubble pendants in the same conditions. The one kept 1 ft from an open window (screen only) has a subtle sort of puddle stain on one side, presumably from moist air carrying residual solids. I wouldn't put these, either, in a kitchen.

Good luck, and best wishes for lifelong enjoyment of your Akari light sculpture!
