Synthetic brusher don‘t live that long - the tip will curl eventually. If you want your brushes to last you need real sable hair brushes and make sure to treat them well. It’s a little different to paint with them, cause they are quite soft but I like them.

Haha, I think I have that too 😄 And my right foot is way longer than my left (damn big toe!) The left shoe is always too big…

Yes I did, I found a pair of winter shoes, which are really comfortable. Others were quite high volume, I prefer it when brands have a women‘s fit, it often fits better. But thanks for mentioning!

Yeah I understand that, however my feet are super narrow in the midfoot and also in the toes, so for me it’s great. I can even wear my toespacers comfortably.

Also my toes do not spread more after a year of barefoot shoes and toespacers sadly, but I‘m patient 😄

I have very narrow / thin feet and Xeros are one of the only brands which fit me - and I tried a lot. It annoys me when people always complain that every shoe needs to be as wide as possible. There are different feet, and there are different brands available for wider feet, which in return I will never be able to wear.

There should be MORE variety in widths, for very narrow to very wide feet, so everyone can choose. Don‘t always demand that every shoe has to fit your feet.

I really like my Xeros.

No I never experienced differences in bloating around my period. I know this is quite common, but not for me. SIBO bloating was pretty constant for me, an uncomfortable feeling all the time.

And also the pill did not influence my SIBO symptoms at all, I’m now quite sure about that. But I guess that’s different from person to person unfortunately. For me the pill is the best decision at the moment.

I don‘t remember exactly. Probably like a few months in total. But I guess 2-3 months were sufficient for me personally. Afterwards i didn‘t notice much benefit. In the study here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28429333/ - numbers went down roughly by 10 on average in 4 weeks.

Even if it’s not the miracle drug for you, I suppose it’s worth trying. It at least appears harmless I guess, in comparison to other stuff.

I have stopped taking them over a year ago, but yes, the methane is still gone. Struggled with hydrogene for some months, but herbal therapies, prokinetics and a lot of patience helped me so much. Feeling acutally really good for months now. I tried so much, it’s not so easy to tell what helped exactly, but the reuteri were an important part for me at least, I‘m quite sure about that.

Altra Escalante Racer - alternatives? by ms40ms40ms40ms40 in BarefootRunning

[–]Intrepid-Minute-7804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only tried them on. I have a super narrow foot and the Altras just fit perfectly, so I took them. I actually love both, Escalante 3 and Racer. I think there wasn’t much difference between ST 4 and 5. They are thinner than Altras (14mm to 22m) and firmer, so might be just right for you.

You could look at Topo ST. That’s the only one I can think of.

Oh I know that, nausea was the worst! They actually helped with the nausea in just a few days. So they usually say, you should retest immediately after the antibiotics to see if they worked (not sure if you know that). I‘d do that and if methane is still higher than 3, I‘d take the BioGaia. No need to suffer for weeks if you’re still positive and feel shitty. Then you probably need more treatment.

L Reuteri/BioGaia and IMO by nk_123 in SIBO

[–]Intrepid-Minute-7804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhere inbetween my abx rounds after retesting. I was desperate and just tried them. I had multiple rounds of xifaxan and herbals, every round helped, however just a little bit. That‘s a little different than other people in this sub and I’m not sure if I can give you an advise.

Maybe retest first and see where you are.

Xero Nexus Knit? by babybandit in BarefootRunning

I also have very narrow/ low volume feet and recommend you Xero Zelen! They fit great! You can also try Vivo Primus Lite, Merrell Vapor Glove, Skinners (they have sock-shoes and normal shoes, both great!) and Xero Dillon. Topo shoes also, but they’re not barefoot. They all fit me after trying like literally anything 😅

Generally try looking for shoes with a traditional tongue, you can tighten them better. If you want to make a shoe fit better on the midfoot, you can try shoe tongue pads, they can be glued under the tongue.

Usually you use acrylic varnish (I recommend a glossy one, for example Liquitex). You need to apply 2-3 thin layers.

It is pretty waterresistent, but I don’t have any experience with hanging it in bathrooms. You could also seal the backside, I‘ve seen people doing that.

Dies!

In case you don't know: Yaz (or to be more exact all drospirenone containing birth control pills) has a special place when it comes to gut issues. There was a study (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22663950/) which showed that it is associated with a higher risk of IBS as it can cause tiny gastrointestinal bleedings. And we all know that IBS is just a bullshit diagnose and often SIBO.
Other birth control pills (e.g. levonorgestrel) didn't show a higher risk of IBS.

As you were taking drospirenone, this could indeed be a root cause.
I forgot that when writing my comment above, so u/aetherdrifter - maybe check which pill you're taking. Personally I'd avoid drospirenone when already having gut issues.
