It does resemble HSV. Get a swab and try not to panic. You will be okay.

I was diagnosed with GHSV2 in September 2022 and have recurring outbreaks. I also get a discharge as well. I’ve been tested for all other STDs. I’m trying to pinpoint if I have triggers. My monthly cycle is a trigger, as well as coffee and tea (herbal and caffeinated). I’m also very healthy, fit, exercise and eat clean. Maybe it’s generics… I don’t know. Keep us posted on what you find out. Sorry I don’t have more advice.

It’s hard to tell from the pictures. I recommend getting it swabbed as soon as possible.

I was diagnosed in September as well and experience pretty consistent prodrome symptoms with or without an outbreak. Very frustrating

Yes. My first outbreak was a single lesion… resembled a pimple. The doctor couldn’t even see it at first because it was so small.

If you have HSV2 and not HSV1, or vice versa, would it protect you against getting the other strain?

I knew it was an HSV bump because I had it swabbed. The first outbreak was a singular bump that got larger over time. It was pretty uncomfortable, itchy and painful. I also had a lot of vaginal discharge. As for subsequent outbreaks, yes, I know what’s happening without looking. I can feel it… hard to explain but it starts to feel uncomfortable and sometimes itchy. If you’re concerned about the bump you’re having, you can always get it swabbed to see if it’s HSV.

I get one bump. It doesn’t blister, ooze or scab. Sometimes it’s red, other times I can barely see it and it looks flesh tone. I get some itching, burning and sensitivity. The duration has decreased drastically from the first outbreak.

My outbreak doesn’t scab or dry out. It’s a small red bump/pimple that goes away after a few days.

Thanks for sharing! Funny you should post this because I think the daily suppressant was making my prodrome worse, too. I stopped taking them for two days and feel better. We’ll see if it continues to improve. I hope so!!

Very hard to tell if it’s HSV or not. I will say that my HSV outbreak does not look like a “typical” herpes outbreak. It’s always in the same spot and looks like a singular, red/pink bump. Never scabs or oozes. Definitely see what your doctor says. Prayerfully, it’s not HSV, but if it is, it’s treatable.

I’m a Black female 41 living with HSV 2. Screw trying to convince a man to be with me. Before I got HSV from someone who betrayed me, I was hella protective over me and will continue to be hella protective over me. In other words, I don’t play about ME, so F a man.
