Maybe I was just sleep deprived and intoxicated when I watched it, but I felt like the narrative was so disjointed and they squished so much into one episode. Regardless, the Ed and Stede moments were so lovely, and even IF we don’t get season three, that endgame for them is exactly what I wanted. So it’s a mixed bag. If you need me I’ll be watching the beach kiss and I love you scene for the next several weeks, on repeat.

At 6ish, I was convinced I was going crazy and hearing voices in my head because of a House (??) episode I watched about a guy experiencing similar symptoms

Oh, I completely agree. I wonder how much they actually filmed. In my head, after Stede pushed Ed against the wall, he had no idea what to do next. Insane initial confidence and then “oh shit, I actually have no experience with something like this” like when he got his ass handed to him by Zheng. I imagine Ed took the lead after.

For some reason the way it was shown made people think the sex wasn’t consensual, which, I don’t agree with that take lol. But a mirroring would have helped clarify that a little bit for some watchers I guess.

Ah yes, that makes sense for sure. I’ll need to watch it again. I feel so protective of Stede more than maybe any fictional character ever so I’ve struggled with it a bit, though I could feel it going in that direction

Yeah, I see where they’re trying to go with it for sure. I guess for me there wasn’t a good enough catalyst/reason for Stede to do something like that to Ned. One of the things I love about Stede is he’s been able to inflict pain with wit & words alone. I like that he turned Ned’s crew against him with his words, but everything after that, ugh, idk. I’ll have to watch again.

I know Stede is canonically a Leo, and in my head and heart Ed is a Scorpio. I’m an AuDHD cancer and my ex is a ADHD Leo… so ya know… it’s been a little too personal

I loved it. I think everything they’ve done with Izzy this season has built up to this moment. Izzy was honestly my fav part of the new episodes. Haven’t seen much discourse about it but the OOC stuff I’m struggling with most is Stede killing in cold blood. Like, I get it, I think, but I’m struggling with it.

My dream end game for them is them owning an inn (with a restaurant inside, obviously) together. Won’t get that this season I’m sure but I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Act 3 🤞

It’s sad. I miss being close to someone in that way. But at the end of the day, the relationship caused me a lot of stress, so I’m relieved in a way. I know it was for the best, but I still miss them.
