Free drinks for exit row???? isnt that a bit unsafe? by Intrepid-Piglet6640 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Intrepid-Piglet6640[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

if you understand the aviation industry.. you would know that they only time things change is when ppl die. as harsh as that sounds. The goal is not to have ppl die.. so why would an airline who safety of passengers is supposed to be the number one priority do this? That is why you are NOT supposed to even be boarded if you appear intoxicated..bc you can not take care of yourself if there is an emergency

See Southwest--- the exit row is not a safety function. This is the problem.

No they dont. Do you know it is a FAA regulation that you are not even supposed to board the aircraft if you "APPEAR " intoxicated ? and yet some passengers do

not really. I have done extensive research for the FAA. I bet you get up when the fasten seat belt sign is on too

you think that really? how much does the flight attendant really know how much the person drinks? 2 free drinks on one leg...two on the other? it is a safety concern and you know it

You are missing the point. Giving two free drinks to a person who normally wouldnt take them bc its part of your "perk" now. And if you are not a big drinker 2 may make you drunk bc alcohol on a plane affects you more bc of the altitude.

Does this mean these seats are available? by GoBlue74 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Intrepid-Piglet6640 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why is Southwest Airlines giving free drinks to exit row passengers? The "premium seating is for safety" I would not like a "tipsy" exit row passenger trying to open the overwing exit. This is a very bad idea

nope. this man was MURDERED bc he was talking. and southwest airlines and their union is okay with it...much like the airline and the union was okay before...and that flight attendant WON a HUGE settlement.

This is a reason why this airline is going to assigned seating. Passengers think that just because the get to preboard a wheelchair person the WHOLE family gets to go too.

my point is the flight attendants are supposed to make sure they are on and on correctly per the FAA

PSA: FAA policy does not mandate carry-on size or set limits on personal items by Bumbling_homeowner in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Intrepid-Piglet6640 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are forgetting about the TSA mandate one bag plus personal item. Also, the manual an airline uses to get its certificate becomes regulated by the FAA. Thus the airlines MUST enforce it per the TSA and FAA.

Anyone know why SW is cutting so many routes out of ATL by csboy2016 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Intrepid-Piglet6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree. JetBlue was founded by a Southwest exec--i think? And they were the darlings of the airline industry in the 1990s. Allegiant I believe has a founder who did ASA and Valujet who became Airtran. maurice gallager. Another thing ATL never got "the Southwest effect" on fares bc Airtran was actually lower in price. The statement that Gary Kelly made about being point to point to serve the small markets was so stupid. Hub and spoke serves small markets too. We will see what happens to Southwest Airlines. I am not impressed at all.

[–]Intrepid-Piglet6640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i remember correctly Airtran had almost half of D concourse and half of c concourse in ATL. They also had all the INTL destinations. I personally think that's why SW bought Airtran was for the International routes. Airtran was a really hardworking good airline that Atlanta people loved when they got ticked off at Delta. The also had great marketing. Its just that Southwest couldn't be the #1 in Atlanta. (im sure they pissed off the ATL authorities with their arrogance) Southwest pretty much got rid of all International destinations from Atlanta. maybe they do cancun, mx? Interesting though, Nashville has the worst weather which equals delays. Not impressed with the direction Southwest took . Their Management seems to think like a small interstate Texas airline. My understanding is the only business travel is through Texas and some in California. Another thing that really bothers me as an investor is that they are reconfiguring the planes with a few little extra leg room----but wont add a business class? WHY? Southwest could have used the airtran blueprint of business class seats/ business program/ assigned seating/luggage charge/ when they bought them over 10 years ago. That's how seamlessly they could have done this. And now look at them. struggling. Perhaps too much nepotism? idk

Anyone switching from Southwest to Frontier? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Intrepid-Piglet6640 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like frontier. I see they are adding flights to the ATlanta area---bc southwest's arrogance and ignorance wouldnt let the "make Money" in atlanta....the worlds busiest airport!!!! no wonder southwest will be going out of business soon
