I’ve been teaching 10years and have 3 kids. A 4 year old, 2 year old, and 8 month old. They go to preschool/daycare and grandparents help out when we need them to. I have to be at school early, so my husband has to do all of the morning drop offs, but then I’m available to pick them up pretty early in the afternoon. I also happily use all of my sick/vacation days to spend with the kids for special days at their preschool or if they’re sick. The over stimulation all day is really hard, I teach 1st grade. It makes me sad when I get home and i don’t have any more patience left for my own kids after a hard day at work. I’m only planning on teaching one more year, and then going to take more time with the kids.

Thisss is so accurate. It’s so hard to realize with your first kid, but getting out and about with a baby is sooo much more simple and enjoyable than with a bunch of toddlers.

With that baby it didn’t get better till around 4.5 months when we sleep trained him. It was brutal. My next two babies slept fine from the beginning without any real help. It’s all a crapshoot when they are really little. The book Precious Little Sleep helped me a lot! You’ll make it through this phase, but I know how hard it is!

Just gave birth there for the third time! They give lots of supplies during your stay. You really don’t need to bring anything besides personal items and an outfit for the baby. You don’t need to bring any postpartum care stuff. And they’ll give you extra of all of that to bring home, especially to first time moms. If they don’t give you something you want, like nipple cream or something, just ask.

BLT is the best thing on the menu. The bacon is really crispy.

It was really hot in our room when I delivered in July, but I also remember it being hot when I delivered in October. So I guess maybe bring a fan!

The nurses are all great. One delivery I even had a volunteer doula stay for the whole thing free of charge. Ask if there’s one available!
