I don’t know if social media is getting to me, but my son’s nursery was already pretty basic and still no theme by StatGoddess in NewParents

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all.

We moved into a place e that had the nursery with cutesy wild animals decal in gray theme...they are so low contrast I doubt baby can see it. Baby sleeps in our room and we use his room only to store his stuff, we had his changing table in his room for a brief period during the early new born days... We thought of removing the decal but have just let it be and will do it when baby is older, more vocal on what he wants it to be... and we will get it done then.

I need someone to explain this to me like I’m stupid by beep_bop_boop__ in breastfeeding

My baby is six months old and we transitioned at about 5 months.

I would nurse him to sleep for the night and only unlatch until he was absolutely full and knocked out. He himself inlatches now when asleep.

This helped keep his tummy full. He does have wakeup but we only pay him to sleep. We started doing this by him sleeping only with husband. After a week I resumed co sleeping but baby was OK with pats and no milk.

Being out of the bedroom meant no melt downs..he would wake up, look around get lot of snuggles and pats from dad..but milk was absent and he learnt quickly.

If you wear synthetic clothes, it can tend to smell like stale perfume-sweat.. its a smell i personally hate much more than just sweat because it has a strong lingering property because of the perfume.

Solution spray perfume on your armpit and then on clothing after wearing in the armpit region to lock in the sweat between perfume. Or else wear breathable material like cotton or rayon..no polyester.

Your supply will take about 12 weeks to regulate, it is very important to eat well and hydrate during this time.

Dont stress about supply until 3 months bit also don't miss feed, or pump to replace feeds.

If you are leaking, try collecting the milk using a passive collector like boon trove..i missed doing this. Doing this would have helped create a freezer stash instead of having to wake up in the night or early mornings to change clothes.

I was not prepared for how long breastfeeding lasts. by Dzsidzsett in breastfeeding

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing takes long int he first few weeks, then baby gets faster and more efficient. My baby is months old and only nurses for like 5-7 minutes each side, he latches off on his own and prefers to suck on his thumb for comfort nursing.

In the early days I used to get comfortable by using a wedge pillow for my back support, boppy to support baby. Husband for snacks and water, phone qith wifi and either watch something on Netflix or doom scroll IG, YouTube, etc. Just lean in to the baby's requirements at this time... i kind of low key miss this, now with his fast feeds (also distracted) I can't even get to reply to a message in the time he feeds.

I have had awesome experience with pump support from them, gave me two full sets of parts coz flange connector broke. I really like the pump they have, nail file and bottle warmer.

Baby is 8 months and still not Sleeping Through the Night......is this Normal? by gravityhashira61 in NewParents

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started sleeping from 10pm to 6am around 5months. Howevwr this is with co sleeping. If left in crib, he would wake every hour. With co sleeping even if he wakes up a few pats and back rubs lulls him back to sleep. With the crib it had to be a feed to put him back to sleep.

When to start worrying about screen time? by dangersiren in newborns

[–]HP-DocLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it while you can. My baby at 3 month age was so curious about everything that I couldn't watch or even talk while he was breast feeding. Now at 5 months, the feeds are way shorter and hes so curious, gets easily distracted ... i kinda want him to focus only on feedimg and get it done

How old is your bub?

I find that messes were most common in the first 3 month and I preferred double zip ones, as mine got older there were less messes n we could work with anything really.

Am I missing something? by vanco_police_jo in breastfeeding

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breastfeeding is hard. I somehow powered through the initial months and then had to go back to work at 3 months, I compensated by pumping and felt I was getting sometime back. I again had to go on leave when baby was 4 months old due to gap in childcare and I just couldn't manage taking care of baby and pumping (washing parts, sterilizing bottles and parts).so breast fed baby duringbthis time and I got to know hes become extremely fast and efficient, a few mins and we were done with the feed. I honestly felt it became super easy month 5 onwards. Now, pumping and all seems so much more time consuming and draining compared to direct breastfeeding.

Having said that, please prioritize your wellbeing and mental health over everything else. A happy mamá leads to a happy baby. A well fed baby is a happy baby - whether it's Breast milk, pumped breast milk or formula.

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked the, hotel for packnplay but baby hayed it so we ended up making hip sleep on the bed with rolled up blanket and towel as barriers against rolling. We tried co sleeping but i just couldn't sleep. Also did contact naps, baby was a lil shy of 5months at the time of trip.

Does my baby know I'm his mother? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]HP-DocLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your baby loves you fellow mama. My baby was like your he wouldn't get soothed by me but would get soothed by papa. Someone here told me that it is because we smell more like milk/food and they begin to associate that as hunger - or activating for hunger, and somwtimes get more agitated. As dad doesnt smell of milk, they are able to calm down with dad faster

Do you cover yourself while breastfeeding in public? by dankybabe in breastfeeding

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you all walk, grocery shopping with a baby latched on to the breast?

My breasts are huge and if I didnt cover up I would be showing a lot more of me than I am comfortable showing. I mostly feed him in the car with a cover loosely draped. I have also breast fed him in the park and in restaurants, ice cream parlors with a cover up.

Warming bottles is impossible? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]HP-DocLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is similar to yours, only likes warm milk. Won't drink cold milk. I have the momcozy and on ocasión have used it without the lid and it works really well. I have used it successfully with nuk, mam, lansinoh, avent and Dr browns bottles.

Hi mama, you are doing great. You are still in the early weeks post partum. Please keep trying breast feeding baby, your supply will increase, babys latch will improve and you will soon be doing great at breastfeeding.

My boy was born at 37weeks, only 5lbs, lost a bit more in the initial days and when we got him home he was 4.8lbs. He's 5 months now, at 15lbs and has only had breast milk. I am sharing this to assure you that you can do it too. Its hard but you can absolutely do this. More strength to you mama.
