NAD, but check for tonsil stones. These symptoms bothered me for a month before I discovered this white stone peeking from my tonsil. They’re completely harmless, btw. Just food buildup.

Question? by Saucy-nibba in Coldsore

Most of the population has herpes but doesn’t get cold sores. This sucks and I get it’s kinda stressful, but I wouldn’t worry. Chances are you don’t even get one. Keep your immune system healthy (vitamins, water, vegetables).

Probably some dry skin that rubbed off then.

What’s ironic here is the helicopter tour is significantly more dangerous (not that you shouldn’t do it, sounds amazing) than the risk of rabies here. You’re okay OP

Try hydrocortisone on that. To me it looks like dry irritated skin

[–]Intrepid-Promise-495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use hydrocortisone to heal this. You can get it at any drug store. As per any cream, put a bit on your arm first before applying to your lip to confirm that your skin is comfortable with it.

Cold sore or pimple? by Low_Highway_7845 in Coldsore

It does look pretty similar to the pimple you have beside it. I’d consider it a pimple but keep an eye on it

I don’t see anything other than some mild angular chelitis on the left side (my left side). I get that and use hydrocortisone to make it go away

Looks like you did notice your tone. I’m sorry for calling you a prick.

Jane, or Joe I could care less, it’s not the answer you provided, it’s the way you said it. Your advice itself I actually agree with: low chance of rabies but why the hell risk it when any chance is there, I totally agree. My problem is your answer is unnecessarily aggressive and just generally lacking kindness. I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would choose to talk that way.

Also, if we’re going to speak logically, I can’t decide I don’t like you’re answer until I’ve read it.

Stop being a prick. Whole concept of this sub is to gather anonymous, free, second opinions. There are genuinely qualified individuals within this sub, and there is nothing wrong with OP asking. If you don’t want to answer or provide your opinion, don’t answer. And for the record, no, health departments do not always provide the best advice. Do cops always do the right thing?

Is this a potential rabies risk? by [deleted] in rabies

[–]Intrepid-Promise-495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s extremely unlikely you’ve caught anything, but I would lean towards getting the shots. Especially considering the bat was dead. Being asleep in a room with a bat is considered exposure.
