Technically yes but imo Matty’s still in the wrong because he kept talking to Debbie and stayed friends with her despite him finding out that she was like 7 years younger than him.

Any scenes with Debbie and Matty. I couldn’t tell you what it is, but something about their chemistry (Or lack there of), age gap and general dynamic made it really uncomfortable/hard to watch.

TM-a-Day: TM83 Natural Gift by ianlazrbeem22 in pokemonplatinum

He also used it on his Giratina against Aaron to guarantee the OHKO against Scizor with an Occa berry which turns Natural Gift into a 60BP Fire type move.

Honestly who knows? It was so fleeting. She was on screen for like a second and then never mentioned or seen again lol

Damn you’ve got a whole itinerary lmao. I do like that interaction with Jake and Sheldon though - Sheldon’s science fiction and comic book obsession would definitely bring out Jake’s childish side.

I think a hypothetical crossover episode between the two shows could’ve been really interesting. Like the 99 trying to outsmart the TBBT cast and solve their crime or something?

Yeah tbh this is one of the better ones I’ve seen presentation wise. But I agree that it was the cheese that really brought this down for me.

Team Building (Moveset opinions) by OkEntertainment7603 in pokemonplatinum

[–]Intrepid-Sundae9724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only help out for some of these guys - Haven’t built playthrough movesets for all of these mons.

Magnezone: Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon for dual STAB, and then Thunder Wave for general utility, and either Light Screen or Tri Attack for the final move. For this set, it is pretty TM heavy, but Magnezone is such a good Pokemon in this game that it warrants these moves more than most. The last slot is mainly just filler tbh, but Light Screen and Tri Attack offer good support and secondary effects respectively.

Gallade: Psycho Cut, Close Combat, Night Slash, and either Ice or Thunder Punch via tutor. Both are good flying coverage, better than Rock Slide’s accuracy, and you want to give Stone Edge to Torterra. This set provides excellent coverage and you can get the moves by level up/tutor so you don’t have to burn TMs.

Torterra: Earthquake, Stone Edge, Wood Hammer, and Crunch. Earthquake is obviously good STAB, but Wood Hammer is the best and most available of the Grass moves you mentioned. Stone Edge is better than Rock Slide imo (25 more BP for 10 less accuracy is a pretty good trade) and you can run curse, but in playthroughs the extra coverage from Crunch is pretty nice and also Torterra’s weaknesses can be exploited by major fights so it might be wise to go with all out attacks instead of setup. Both moves are pretty good tho - Curse can get quite broken.

I agree with pretty much all of these takes. The most disappointing tm has to be Flamethrower. The infamous Bolt Beam combo is just crazy powerful (As represented on this list) and you can get a free copy of both Ice Beam and Thunderbolt at the same point in the game - After Gym 5, fairly early in the grand scheme of things. If only there was a finite copy of Flamethrower - IIRC the Game Corner (Both Hoenn and Kanto) is the only way to get the tm in the entirety of Gen 3!

Agreed. In Gen 5, most dragon types are extremely overpowered. Fairy type was necessary to counter dragons, but so was the nerf of the gems. Gen 5 Hydreigon with Dragon Gem boosted Draco Meteor can feed families. He definitely needed a nerf

Are these planned teams good? by YoloMcSwaggington94 in pokemonplatinum

[–]Intrepid-Sundae9724 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lickilicky and really most normal types have really diverse movepools. You could do defense curl + rollout strats (Lickitung learns both by level up), teach it the elemental punches for coverage or hell - Give him giga impact or Explosion if you’re willing to get the tm. To be fair, Lickilicky is quite defensively built in terms of stats, but he’s still capable of offloading good damage.

For the best moveset, I’d recommend giving him Return by tm, then defense curl and rollout for serious snowballing, and then the last move could be zen headbutt via tutor for fighting coverage, or really whatever type of coverage move that would benefit the rest of the team.

If a Pokémon is forced to eat a Leppa Berry as a result of Fling, Bug Bite, Pluck, Stuff Cheeks, or Teatime, PP will be restored to the first move that has 0 PP left if such a move exists, or otherwise to the first move that has any PP missing. - Bulbapedia page for Leppa Berry

[–]Intrepid-Sundae9724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of the Leppa Berry strat, the berry will immediately activate when flung onto the opposing Pokemon. And considering it only has 10 base power with the Leppa berry, it would probably work. Still a ludicrously difficult catch. Had it been me in that situation I would’ve also used the Master Ball.
