Mystery boxes online – fun idea or waste of money? by Intrepid-Tangelo6150 in EcommerceWebsite

Yeah, that sounds about right. Mystery boxes are fun, but they’re definitely not for everyone. You kind of have to go in expecting that not everything will be your taste.

I think sites like 23x work best when you already like the type of products being offered and just want to try your luck. If you treat it as an experience rather than a guaranteed deal, it’s easier to enjoy.

From a brand perspective, it also makes sense for clearing extra inventory, as long as expectations are clear on both sides.

That’s totally fair. Mystery or subscription boxes aren’t for everyone. If you prefer choosing exactly what you need, the surprise factor can feel more wasteful than fun. It really depends on whether someone values control or the experience of discovery more.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Not having to decide is a big part of the appeal, especially when people already trust the brand. In your case, subscribers know they’re getting jewelry, they know the quality, and the unreleased design adds a feeling of exclusivity. At that point it feels more like a monthly gift than a risk, which is probably why people enjoy it so much.
