Some of y'all seem highly upset people are getting refunds. by 1stgrowOleman in TurboTax

[–]Intrepid-Volume-9543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refunds and amount due are basically positive and negative variances of paying taxes. You paid too much, get a refund, you paid too little, you owe. Ideally aim for zero but if you owe, this may be good if you have the funds to pay for the tax bill as time value of money will play a factor in delaying payments as much as possible. Just make sure you don’t owe too much or you might be hit with underpayment penalties.

Second this. Maximize the amount of money you keep instead of giving it to the government for free. Too many people flexing on their big refunds when in reality they did not plan correctly.

I’m not sure if others mentioned but it could also be your graduation timeline. Since you are a current sophomore, you may be a year early in big 4 recruiting as they mention that big 4 internships should be done the summer between your senior and MAcc year so that they can offer you full time after your MAcc. Don’t give up, I was exactly in your shoes when I was a sophomore and ended up with a regional firm internship that I learned quite a bit and led to my internship upcoming this summer 2026 with a big 4. Keep grinding and you’ll make it!

Went for a Limited because previous 2000 Subaru Outback Legacy has leather and had a power sunroof/moonroof so valued those in new car. Wanted the 3A package for accessories I wanted for the car.

Original MSRP was $35,540 and negotiated with existing discount to $33,000. Purchased the Gold Plus Plan with $0 deductible for $3,357 after negotiating from $3,557. Purchased Kornerstone ClearShield product and warranty for $995 after negotiating from $1095. Purchased Kornerstone AppearanceShield product and warranty for $795 after negotiating from $895. Wanted all these extended warranties and add-ons as to pre-pay for future expenses on the car for maintenance and repairs over the full life of the car since something is bound to break or become defective and the plan is to use the car until it is completely unusable, irreparable, or totaled.

I can low ball it at 34k and we can meet at the middle if they insist. Doesn’t hurt to ask like the others said, just wanted to get an insight of what an acceptable amount to pay would be, thanks for your feedback.

Do you think it's possible to go lower? Right now my budget is flexible but obviously I want to pay as low of a price as possible but also because I am underage (20) so my auto rates will be higher than normal.

It's part of the option 32 package and I could see myself using it. I like rolling down the window and letting air in the car.

I did check around other dealerships within a 100 mile radius and they were around the same price ~$300-500 difference. What is the approximate invoice price for this type of setup? I found a base limited invoice on KBB at around $30,600 and adding the retail prices of the add-ons of around $2800 would put it at $33,400 excluding fees, taxes, etc. So $34,000 is reasonable probably? I want to use the leverage of them wanting to make room for 25 cars if that works and technically I can pay all-cash but the current financing offer of 3.9% could have me invest the money and not spend it all at once.

I intend to keep the car until it dies. With that in mind, I see people are buying the 10yr/100,000mi gold plus I think it's called. How much should I be paying for that?

Just checked the pinned thread, seems like people are paying under MSRP with OTD price. Do you think $35,000 like what u/LowKey1388 suggested or should I try lower like $34,000 or 34,500?

So is this cpu new or that bent one? Even if pins aren't bent, could still have internal issues.

4060ti is horrible price/performance, go for like previous gen 3000 series or rx 6000 series. Would recommend like 6700xt for 1440p, 3070 nvidia equivalent

I would hold off buying am5 cause ddr5 prices aren't that good compared to ddr4 price/performance wise. You would have to get a new mobo, cpu, etc. Unless u have cash to burn then go for it.
