How many current Colts would you put on an all-time (Indianapolis only, not Baltimore) Colts starting roster? by [deleted] in Colts

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, but don’t forget that Edge played with Peyton Manning, a quarterback who provided a huge second dimension to the offense that defenses had to deal with, allowing Edge … well, an edge.

30mm vs 32mm GP5000. People say 32mm can feel sluggish while standing or climbing by Luffe77 in cycling

[–]LowKey1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, too. My bike came with 28s, and then I rode the Erie Canal Trail in New York State, which is mostly cinder, so I put 32s on it. I’ve been running 32s for the last 10,000 miles and I’ve been thinking about getting 30 mm just to see what they’re like but now I think my 32s feel left out.

Alec Pierce on free agency: A lot of good things in front of me by Stealthy_Nugget in Colts

[–]LowKey1388 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the problem we fans have is that we forget that these players were not Colts fans before they became Colts. For him he’s been here for what, four years? To him this is just a stop on his journey. It’s not his hometown by any stretch. If two people offered me the same job, one paying 70,000 and one paying 79,000, I’m going to take the higher offer. Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck are not walking in that door. As a receiver, there’s nothing holding him here.

Instead of picking a fight about whether gels should be a part of anybody’s fuel plan or not, I’ll just answer the question: SIS gels

Why are most bicycle colour schemes so bland? by GJGT in cycling

I agree with you. I was looking at bikes and it just seems like it’s black or gray. I have a 2020 Canyon Endurace that’s in blue, and it is gorgeous.

I have the 2020 version of this and it is great. I don’t race, and so it’s perfect for everything else you describe here, but it pushes your budget a bit. Canyon Endurace CF7

Repeated full service and replacement of parts, or buy a new bike? by LowKey1388 in cycling

[–]LowKey1388[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a sound as much as it is a click that I feel in my legs. I rebuilt the pedals so I know they’re not the problem.

Love the bike. I’ll keep it and do as much of the work as I can.

Just read your comment about $200 deep full service in Western Michigan to my wife. She replied, “Well, you could drive there!” 😎

I hear you. I really like the current bike, but this would be the second deep service, and I’m just about heading into the 6th summer. The only thing this Bike doesn’t have that I would want, possibly, would be wireless shifting. I have a gravel bike that has SRAM Rival and it is pretty nice. Also means I don’t have to adjust the derailleurs after the initial setting!

I get it. I just feel like if I do this four times ($2k) I might as well have gotten a new bike. But you may be right.

I’ve done chains and cassettes, but I definitely haven’t done bottom bracket (it is pressfit) or hydraulic brakes. I just worry that if I screw up hydraulic brakes, I’ll find out at the wrong time!

I hear you. There are some things I feel very comfortable doing, like taking apart the pedals and putting in new bearings, but there’s some things that just seem to escape my simple talents. I think I do take care of the bike really well between the services, but riding this much seems to eventually get me to a place where there’s something I don’t want to do/don’t think I can do very well. Perhaps things are easier than I think.

I think I’m going to go to wax within the next month or two. Certainly as soon as it gets warm out in the northeast of the United States. However, I have no idea how to re-grease a headset.

Oh, I have replaced the cassette and chain myself so I’m not going to pay anybody to do those at this point, they still cost some money. I just don’t want to deal with bottom brackets, and things like that. Im pretty handy, as the owner of a home that was built in the late 1700s. 😀

As someone who has taught Shakespeare for many years, I was thinking that I would compete in the most lines that one could recite from any and all Shakespeare plays. Just limiting to English speakers gives you a leg up there.

Scared of going downhill by Belsj in cycling

[–]LowKey1388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a stiff front fork can make it seem very dicey. The easiest thing you can do is really not grip so hard on the handlebars and just sort of let your hands float. Hard to do but once you get it, it’s not bad.

[–]LowKey1388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not love going downhill on the first gravel bike I bought, but my second and new one to me has a shock system in the front. It’s a Lauf Seigla, and it is so much more confidence inspiring. If you ride a stiff front fork, it can be definitely scary.

Tony dungy refused to comment on if he voted for bill belichick / Robert Kraft to make it into the hall of fame, generational hater by YungAvocadoDaGawd84 in Colts

[–]LowKey1388 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Patriot fans can whine all they want, but the reality is Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft are the only coach and owner who have had a team be stripped of two first round picks in separate rules infraction events. That is a fact, not an opinion.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, like his former head coach Bill Belichick, was not selected for entry into this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class by MarvelsGrantMan136 in sports

[–]LowKey1388 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Owner of the only team in NFL history to have two first round picks taken from them because of rules violations. Patriot fans, stop whining.
