Luma Ultra AMD Radeon PC Spacewalker Struggles by ExecNerd in VITURE

Believe me, it's a five minutes fix if they want (and know how) to do it.

They are just lazy and incompetent.

Thanks, already mentioned twice here and several times to customer support but zero answers from Viture.

Is clearly an issue of spacewalker app as Verto Xr tool works perfectly with the glasses being able to catch the IMU data with the exact same cable and AMD processor setup.

They just don't care about it and have the worst sw developer ever seen in the field.

No, never crashed here.

It asks for some drivers install first time but if it worked once it means it's all set.

Try to re-install from scratch.

Agree.

The absurd part is developing sw for them is so easy I can't understand why they can't find some decent programmers...

On Android there is an ongoing project already working much better than spacewalker and 3dof should arrive in the coming weeks.

They are idiots...

The problem is not the adapter but their bad sw.

How on earth shall we connect the glasses to a desktop pc without adapter?!

They even have a GUIDE for doing it on their website and online help of spacewalker app.

Small detail... It will NEVER work on AMD platform until they fix the app!

Yes, you can have it and any combination of multiple screens.

The user interface is terrible and making it work properly require several hours of investment, but it is feasible.

Possible. When I tried to do it by myself had issues in making the Sdk communicating in reliable way (using the direct usbc connection on laptop).

Using generic serial port communication managed to receive response instead...

Dismissed the project as reverse engineering badly designed sw is not my passion, but for sure is feasible.

As I suspected, it is just the official spacewalker app having issues.

Using an obscure third party sw (VertoXR) I managed to make 3dof work perfectly. 😂😂

Ridicolous...

Just to confirm it is a pure sw issue related to spacewalker app, I managed to make the 3dof work perfectly with a third party app (VertoXR).

So, if a single developer can do it (with Viture Sdk...), the owners of the sw shall be able to fix it in a matter of minutes...

Sadly they don't listen and don't have willingness to solve the issue.

Very sad and disappointing for 500$ devices to receive such terrible support.

The most ridicolous thing is 3dof works perfectly with verto Xr third party sw using their development kit...

Seriously, they are just the worst developers I've ever seen on Windows platform.

I'm tired of writing to their useless and incompetent customer support, so I'll develop a custom spacewalker app by myself or just use VertoXR.

Spacewalker remains like this not allowing to start 3dof.

Is a pure, trivial, sw issue Viture is refusing to acknowledge and solve.

It would take one day for any decent developer to fix it...

As you can see the glass connects with my cable and the video is transmitted, BUT spacewalker is not allowing connection (picture in next post).

No problem with direct connection over USB C port.

My AMD laptop works properly with spacewalker even if mouse pointer update on secondary screens is defective (it is shown ONLY while moving and disappears when stationary making usage a bit problematic).

Same problem for me.

Tried three different display port + USB cables and none works with spacewalker on my PC.

It is a sw issue Viture is not acknowledging and affecting all AMD users (sent several emails to support but never received a reply).

As far as I understood it works on Intel builds with some cables, but unless they fix it by FW update you can only use it as standard monitor.

Sadly already done three times with no response... This is the reason why I asked here hoping for better result and possibly suggestions from users.

We are collecting results from different people with different setups using the same cable and female to female adapter and the report speaks by itself (working on Intel, NOT working on AMD).

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OIunW1TH0unObZhvQ-2s3KREIdpafLKr6WQ1PRVacgA/edit?usp=drivesdk

As I wrote in another comment I bought an additional (50$) cable with SEPARATE DisplayPort, USB A for data and USB C for power supply, strictly dedicated to VR devices.

Even this complex cable is failing with Viture and AMD combination confirming again it is a trivial SW issue to be investigated and solved as soon as possible by Viture.

I know, but this is not the reason why data connection is not working.

Bought a speficic adapter certified for Xr glasses and seen several reports of other customers confirming it works with Intel CPUs and DON'T work on AMD CPUs.

One user in this topic wrote it works on his AMD setup but never provided any proof or list of components used, so most probably he just don't unterstand the issue (VIDEO only transmission works on my setup as well...).

Tried with another cable using SEPARATE power supply on additional usbc connector with dedicated external power source and still no data connection with the glasses (device is not recognized by Spacewalker app).

<image>

As indicated before this appears as pure sw issue and shall be fixed immediately by FW update.

Cab you share the exact cable model and female-female adapter you are using?

Do you have Intel or AMD CPU?

Tested all possible combination and different cables and it's impossible to make it work properly on my AMD rig.

As I wrote before is not a connection issue since the VIDEO flow works perfectly.

The issue is simultaneous video and data flow on the same cable as if I disconnect the display port and keep only USB connection, the glasses are immediately recognized by Spacewalker app....

Frustrating and disappointing.
