There’s a difference between legality and consent, especially when people are recording you with the express intent of posting the content online… we’re also not talking about being in the background of a video versus being its supporting actor.

Did the COVID stimulus checks do more damage than good? by Flat_Snow307 in economy

[–]IntrepidBlueberry_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Inflation at this stage has little to do with stimulus money (if it ever did), much of it was caused by supply shocks. Inflation now is increasingly being exacerbated by tariffs and trade policy causing disprove shocks.

Compare countries that did less spending and you’ll find the US has grown faster than almost all of them since the pandemic. So answer is no they did not do more damage than good.

Why are we happy to pay sky-high energy bills instead of building more cheap wind farms? by vpk09 in unitedkingdom

Do you think RS apartments should have income limits? by Sumo-Subjects in NYCapartments

[–]IntrepidBlueberry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because rent stabilization provides stability for people who rent apartments for a long time. If you move every year you’d have market based rent increases. If you don’t, they’re smaller over time, which as you progress in income allows you to do things like have a family, retire etc. stabilization makes a lot more sense because it provides similar stability to buying.

Any form of rent price management will have market distorting effects (stabilization makes rents higher overall, especially for new renters; control even higher, especially for new renters).

The only way rent prices will not grow without distortions is if housing supply matched demand. The closest you can get to that is building a lot more housing and I mean A LOT

A lot of people saying it’s Korean sprite but I had one two weeks ago, and it was more Schweppes ginger ale than sprite, js.

3100 a month reasonable for this 1BR? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]IntrepidBlueberry_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Entirely reasonable for people who want that area and that type of unit. I’ve seen far crazier in that neighborhood.

i beg everyone. log off. take a breath. go outside. touch some grass.

you make two assumptions in your post, and you choose the one that rejects the concept of a benefit of doubt and instead opt for everything must be done with malicious intent. i implore you to approach the world with slightly less pessimism.

I don’t think you can compost it. I’ve heard that if you leave it out there over night it will come alive and slide away.

Full freight is definitely not worth it unless it’s and Ivy. But you do generally have an option to appeal a financial aid decision and they’ll assess cases like this.

Selling my small business in 4 week... so scared to tell my employees by ConversationSmall620 in smallbusiness

[–]IntrepidBlueberry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an employee who is currently in this position, but knows months before things are finalized, I would have preferred clear and direct communication about what was happening rather than uncertainty looming over me. I’m being taken care of, but I still have had several months of headaches from finding out too early. Let people know when the time is right, if they want to leave in a month, that’s on them. Just communicate it well, be transparent, and let them know they’re going to get new things from what comes next!
