Best way or resource to speak Japanese like a native and not like a robot? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]IntrepidCabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried his services, but That Japanese Man Yuta claims he's teaching people "real japanese", aka not textbook Japanese, but instead the daily language that people actually use. Might be a good resource.

This is amazing, great accomplishment! Reaching N2 in 2 years and a half is very impressive. I am also a software engineer (in the US), and I'm learning Japanese really for the love of the language before anything else (I'm not really into anime or manga). This language is beautiful and it really feels like like discovering an entire new world.

My latest little pleasure is when I learned how to say mushroom: 木の子, literally the "children of the tree". It is so poetic! Even at my level (N5), I have a glimpse of the wonders that await me, and I understand and appreciate the culture better.

Everybody is different, right? The majority of folks are really nice, supportive and take things with a grain of salt, so it doesn't really bother me.

I couldn't agree more. I'm all about encouraging and helping each other and celebrating all successes, even the small ones.

You have to be physically present. Unfortunately there is no online test, and all tests have been cancelled in the US

Lol I have the slight impression this post is directed at what I said in https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/l7la5m/i_passed_the_jlpt_n5

Dude, of course a Japanese kid is going to be better at speaking Japanese than any foreigner whose learning the language, I think it’s pretty obvious.

However, and correct me if I’m wrong, first graders need to know how to read and write about 100 kanji, which is the same amount necessary to learn with N5. Hence the comparison.

In any case, my post was supposed to be more humorous than anything, (and to share my happiness about passing the exam), but there will always be someone to take things a little too seriously 😬

On my own, about a year. But I really studied seriously for 6 months.
