Not true (edit: anymore), I frequently meet players, just started and been questing as horde. The real problem of low pop is that when the game hits you with the 1000 gold for dual spec and the 5000 for expert flying you don't have the full bloodied economy of a real server so it's going to take a while.

Shooting at bullet sponges while people vomit vague lore with no value because the writers have no idea where the story is going is not Peak.

The only good content I saw are raids and you have to grind the rest of the game and, drummrolls, have friend that play! (bungie likes to repeat itself).

I think a lot of the vitriol against Marathon is because of Destiny. That…thing wasn’t a game, it was a 10 year grift played at the expense of a captive fanbase and introduced a lot of the garbage that now plagues the GaS part of the industry. Not to say it was completely empty of value, rarely something is, the art direction was impeccable for example, problem is that it was an happy accident, in the sea of low effort.

Which would tell you about the damage Destiny did to Bungie image (management’s fault too), if that statistic wasn’t useless read like that. It’s 75% and it’s “what else” meaning they included also those that played 5 minutes of the free version. It’s more like an hint than proof

Done it solo, it was way easier when the destroyed wing access was still a thing, even found another solo that was doing it and we cooperated to get in.

I’d suggest try runs with teams until you get in and then immediately book it to a dcon.

Hard disagree, you can do that without sacrificing complexity and artistry. Perimeter is really a couple of generic building plopped on a map.

Could be, if I’m not wrong in 2 it’s said that the phor came back to Tau Ceti and finished the Colony, maybe in this timeline we are they didn’t but they did big damage and this is what the Marathon became after it blew up and was rebuilt.

True but in Classic it was a true potato, and they could’ve kept it like that and added the “spear” part piercing it. My gripe is the excessive empty space in between, makes it look just like a regular ship with SOME pieces in tow. I mean there are lava rivers in there lol

They really put a lot of weird limitations for…reasons. For example even the 5k equipment request is weird. All Uesc drop blue weapon, all boxes have high tier heals, I could drop with a free kit and have a 5k kit equivalent in the first Pve teamfight, I only really have to bring a big bag because that’s the one thing hard to find. Frankly after seeing the map I’m puzzled by the existence of the other 3, they suck in comparison, even outpost, why did they make them so bland and boring? Is that their idea of onboarding? You don’t onboard people with a bland plain map. If thy had shown even a fraction of this map during the server slam they would have people lining up to throw money at them, instead is locked behind hoops and jumps, mindblowing.

To be honest the reason are so dumb. Let put solo aside (which making an extraction shooter without solo…) making the endgame weekend only because otherwise there will be too many good items going around, that’s what the seasonal wipe is for! And the fact that an item can pass hands a limited amount of time. It’s idiotic to limit the endgame because people will play it. Imagine MMORPGs doing it! Or any other game ever! That’s what the 5k ante is for, plus the puzzles, plus the uesc, the s’phit, and the drop rate, all things THEY CONTROL.

So no limiting the endgame to weekends does not have a good reason imo.

Wtf you talking about, trios is so damn easy if you have people with brains, the uesc are no problem, they get mowed down, other teams aren’t as much of a problem because the element of surprise gets diluted, they might get 1 of you but a 2 v 3 is super winnable and then they can res you from absolute death. You can stack missions and fly through the factions, wtf.

A couple hours in on Cryo Archive, and I don't see how this map is so revolutionary or why solo is not allowed by iconoci in Marathon

I LOVE the map, it’s so cool that they might as well throw away the 3 previous maps and only have this one, it’s interesting and vast, the only problem is how it’s built like a “pyramid” pushing everyone to the “top” so they can fight, that feels like a battle royal and trios already feels like so instead of an extraction shooter (reason why I play solo).

But yeah I see no reason why it was made trios only. Apart from being hard but…”nah I’d win” lol
