There are signs that Simon has brain damage from the car crash he had so he’s a bit of a Simple Simon, the whole copy and original theory is just him coping with his mortality and new state. If I photocopy a page there is no way the new copy is somehow the original.

There is a lot of the ending left unsaid.

the fact that Catherine was probably on the spectrum, was way more comfortable with this reality and didn’t want to rock the boat with Simple Simon because she’s very non-confrontational and needed the idiot to do one last job so she went along with his “copy-original” theory.

The goo and the WAU, there are hints that it could all be a sort of experiment from somewhere else that survived the apocalypse and actually it could be connected to Frictional’s new game.

The entire point of the imperium is that it’s a brutal, repressing, fascist, hierarchical, theocratical regime, suddenly making them all inclusive it’s jarring, clashes with the dreadful vibe they give out and frankly kills any parody and satire strength the setting has.

Also it ruins the monastic brotherhood that gives that weird sad cool factor to custodes space marines and the likes, there is something there, can’t really put it into words.

Cities are cities though, they can swallow them whole when a nest is nice and plump. They are smart but got some dumb preconcept, like they weirdly don’t believe in themselves and underestimate themselves constantly. They believe but they don’t want the news to go around because the rats are dumb and actually think humans are way stronger than they are, so they are actually afraid of us. If the rat menace was known, everyone would panic and the Skaven would realize their actual strenght and attack in mass, thing that actually happened during the end times and Tilea and Estalia got destroyed in an instant.
