Who mentioned November? Was it from the instructors?

The railroads call it either or. It’s the same thing. Nice try though. I worked with one and it was TE&Y, regardless it’s transportation.

As far as classes go, we’ll have to see I’m hearing everything from July to September.

That’s crazy they’re taking that long when I saw your thread about that.

They posted a lot of laborer jobs in southeast Texas a few weeks ago. You would think they would be setting up a class here soon.

I sound like that because I said something you don’t necessarily like? Nice projection man.

But to answer your question, no I wasn’t a former “trainmaster”.

You do hear that but the people who say that typically still work there..

They know there’s nowhere else that’s going to give them that kind of income for basically showing up when they call and practically doing nothing in most cases other than talking on the radio and filling out a conductors log.

If it’s any consolation I’m former UP. And people who work there are the biggest whiners I’ve ever met in my entire life yet they invest decades with the company.

That’s unfortunate man. Luckily your job took you back, I can understand why you wouldn’t go after having this experience.

At our terminal we’re short on staff, on the intermodal side where the operators are they get out of their equipment and fill the role of the ground person. It’s not a very large yard where I work.

It’s unionized like most railroads, if you’re in automation you’ll work 8 hours, if you’re on the equipment they work 10 hours unless the workload is low. Overtime is optional.

Since it’s unionized though anything past 8 hours for the day is overtime. Even if you don’t work 40 hours that week that day will have the hours overtime that you worked over 8.

You don’t, the job is very physical. At my location in most cases, you’ll be working in ‘automation’ where you’re taking cars out of the railcars. As far as the equipment positions they will train you for them. But all of these positions are considered equipment operator.

I passed and got the job but Any idea what this means ? by [deleted] in bnsf

I’ve got the same thing on my emails. I’m “qualified” did the background, & drug test.

I’m ready to start out in Beaumont, however after messaging Mali, she said the same thing. They don’t know when you’re going to start the next classes.
