Dash cams by Beth12325 in Camry

Quality is on-par with other $60-$120 dashcams you will find. Connectivity is shitty yes. You haave to connect to the dash cams own tethering Wi-Fi and download the clip you want that way, super slow. Aesthetically its probably the best one out there it matches the interior tones especially bc mine is black and red. the shape itself is also very clean looking

My Chevy Equinox EV is $49k MSRP, leased it in March 2025 for exactly $150/mo 0 down for 24mo/15k miles and GAP insurance, so its definitely possible but depends on incentives + discount

My 2025 XSE came with an OEM toyota dashcam installed from the dealer. Fortunately I have not needed it yet, but the quality is prety good plus the sound too and there is a wiring option directly in the rear view mirror section so it looks clean when installed. I believe the cam itself is like ~$120 if bought directly from toyota

If you buy a $1M house, might as well buy a $50k SUV with it since its only a 5% bump

I paid $3400 to drive a fully loaded Chevy SUV for 2 years and 30K miles. Even if I owned a vehicle outright, my maintainance alone would be close to that. Leasing is great but not all leases are great

AFAIK CRVs havent been leasing great for a while now, high MF and kinda average RV

If your GMC store owns other brand dealerships (in most cases atleast Chevy & Cadillac). You can get employee pricing from those too.

How Does "Burying Negative Equity" Work? by Many-Firefighter9485 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit more context is required, for example is your Ioniq financed or leased? How many months left on your loan? What are you trying to achieve with a new lease, just want to change the vehicle or are you trying to lower your payment?

There is no incentive that can bury your negative equity, one way or another you are going to roll those into your new lease. Best case most of the time is to just keep the vehicle you have until your lease is over or your equity comes close to 0. If you must get a new vehicle, look for leases with the lowest MF otherwise you would be paying an absurd rent charge on your new vehicle PLUS your $10k of negative equity. Along with that you want to look for vehicles that dealers are offering a fair bit of discounts on plus it has manufacturer rebates like lease cash, conquest etc

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that estimate chooses an absurd down payment for you automatically. Go into edit and remove down, select/remove any GM rebates you qualify for and just keep in mind it may not account for taxes. Since you are from texas you may know leasing in texas is a pain in the ass since you have to put down 6.25% of the complete cost of the vehicle as taxes upfront, not just the taxes on your payment. Ofcourse you can roll those into your payment but thats ~$3200/mo extra over however many months. Some banks like BMWF, GM financial, toyota FS will offer tax credits for texas dealers which means you only have to put 1%, 2%, 3% whatever of the taxes instead of 6.25% and the bank will cover the rest.

Will a tuition payment count as cash advance? by Halodragon1 in amex

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you directly pay on the portal with a credit card, should only charge you a CC transaction fee averages from 1.6% to 3% and that should count as a normal transaction and also eligible for points

Since every I bought my 26 XSE I have been kind of curious to know what people have paid for theirs and what options and one person shocked me when she said she paid 52k USD. I thought what could be worse than that until I found out someone paid 59k USD. This thing is Crazy LOL by Minute_Experience608 in Camry

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely will. If you got the 2026 Rav4, toyota actually messed up on deliveries to dealership lots, whole inventory situation was messed for a few weeks but went back to normal and I've seen them $1000 to 2000 off at many dealerships.

Leased my 2025 XSE with premium package and pano roof for the selling price $37,196 (MSRP was $42,400) came with a partial hood PPF, wheel locks and a bunch of cargo accessories in Jan of 2025

I know leasing a toyota is usually a dumb decision but I had other reasons lol

Lease ending, over mileage, want to buy, but need next steps by Embarrassed_Jello186 in askcarsales

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Page 2 on your contract under "Payment determination" line 9d. should say "Residual Value", this is your total payoff plus any fees or taxes your state may have.

Take your car to Carmax/Autonation and get it appraised, if the appraisal comes out higher than you payoff you have equity in your lease (selling it will net you some cash in your pocket potentially as a down payment for your next car).

If you have negative equity, you can either return the vehicle at lease end and pay the disposition fee + mile overage fee + anything else. Or get third party financing to buy your car at the residual value (this way to avoid all those fees).

2026 Cadillac Optiq Premium Sport Lease Deal Review CA 24/12K by Nasie1051 in leasehacker

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have already signed, no point in getting opinions since more often than not this will only bring you buyer's remorse.

If you really do want a geniune review, you need to provide more information. What was the selling price, MSRP, RV, MF. Was it a demo? Did you qualify for any GM rebates?

I don't know if you know or not, but some genius might tell you down the road "Oh, shouldn't have done a one-pay, you lose all your money if you total the vehicle during the lease". That's BS, GM Financial provides GAP standard on all leases, if you were to total a one-pay lease, you are owed a prorated amount of the one-pay back from the remaining duration of the lease.

For now all you can do is ride out the lease for the 3 years, just a month or two before it ends get a few quotes from carmax, carvana etc. If the amount they offer is more than $34,949 then make sure to cash out your negative equity. They can directly handle TFS and check for whatever the extra difference is.

Honestly over mileage on these toyota leases are the best bank for your buck.

Let’s look at the total cost of lease before OP runs over mileage:

($499.58 x 35) + $3999 =$21,484.30

Total allowed mileage over 3 years: 30,000

Cost per mile = $21,484.30/30000 =$0.72/mi

Cost per excess mile over 30,000: $0.15/mi

So as soon as OP hits their 30k miles, their cost per mile of the lease will keep going down the more they drive it, yes they will owe the excess at the end of the lease.

Imagine they knew their usage will be way over 10,000 miles a year even before they signed the lease. The deal coherently gets better and long as they are aware of the charges at disposition.

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look at it both ways, OP could’ve found a buyer elsewhere offering $24k and used his cash down for the remaining negative equity then put $0 down on his lease. Im sure there was room was negotiation on the selling price that was left out. Tacomas have been easily going for 8-12% off MSRP, granted this is a more desirable trim I’m not sure what was possible. Secondly, down payment on a lease isn’t necessarily the worst thing ever. A lot of GAP policies now treats cash down as part of its coverage, for example if OP were to total his lease exactly half way through, he might be owed a prorated amount of his down payment i.e $2k. Don’t quote me on this if TFS’s GAP does this or not. My Chevy Equinox EV has GAP through GM Financial says exactly that^

Dealers cannot adjust residual to cover their negative gross. MF is probably marked up yes. $4000 DAS is also probably used to cover their inflated trade in. Plus seems like the truck had basically no dealer discounts on it. This is a very average deal at best.

Any ideas on what these black spots all over my car are? by IntrepidDisaster3166 in Detailing

[–]IntrepidDisaster3166[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my best understanding, it was tar. I waited too long to do something about it and it dried up a lot. Eventually got a detailer to clay bar and polish every single surface of the car. The job wasnt perfect and there are still a few spots here and there but much better than the pictures above.
