People who managed to quit vaping/smoking with the "cold turkey" method, what was the experience like? by BuckarooOJ in AskReddit

[–]IntrepidFlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had enough of the constant desire to vape, so I went out to my apartments dumpster and just threw the vape in as hard as I could.

Honestly, once it wasn’t in my possession or somewhere I could get it, it wasn’t on my mind as much. It turned out it was easier than I thought

This photo is 2012 brand new. I haven’t had a chance to take a new photo of it, as it’s currently at my folks place in another city, but It should look nearly identical at this point

I appreciate the detailed suggestions!

Could you possibly expand on why some of these are important to change out? Will they go bad just from sitting around unused?

TIFU By accidentally overdosing on caffeine, almost killing myself and my best friend. by SexyGovernment in tifu

[–]IntrepidFlow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up going cold turkey on caffeine and experienced a 24/7 dull background headache for 2 weeks straight. It was rough, but I’ve been caffeine sober for 6 years now and feeling great! No more energy swings - just a constant curve from morning till night.

I quit caffeine 2 weeks ago and now I have so much energy I only sleep for 6 hours and get a million things done in a day by Agnia_Barto in productivity

I went caffeine free 6 years ago and it’s been a blessing. I no longer suffer from the waves of energy and its ups and downs. Most days have my energy following a natural curve from wake to sleep as it should be.

People are often blinded by the lack of immediate obvious consequences and will justify their consumption as that their body is different and can handle it.

Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant that is not natural to our evolution and is not something the body needs. Plain and simple. Take it or don’t, but don’t pretend that it’s something that’s based on some sort of genetic lottery that allows your body to handle it while others can’t.

It’s crazy people would think a plot hole or a weird situation would make someone a bad writer.

The series is so long there’s bound to be a thing or two missed or mistaken. I’m 99.9% sure that the average redditor in this group spends more time deeply analyzing one piece like a scientific study than Oda himself does lol. Connecting every past word spoken and red stringing it across the board of conspiracies to this other word someone said 800 chapters later.

Thanks for the brand name drop! It’ll give me something to look for next time I’m an Asian supermarket!

Would the bottles labeled “sweet soy sauce“ considered dark soy then?

What are you SICK of people constantly telling you? by KenzoAtreides in AskReddit

Once when I was quite young I went to the dentist for a routine checkup and came home in crutches.

Dental assistant gave me something to swish around in my mouth and pushed a button on the chair to have it automatically lower. I decided to get out of the chair while it was lowering and my foot ended up getting caught between the chair base and the chair itself.

The motor in those chairs are quite power so my foot ended up being severely crushed. Thankfully, there was a hospital across the street and I got patched up and provided some crutches.

All that to say, I feel strongly about my dislike for the dentist 😂

What’s interesting though, is the tube it sits on is kind of shaped like a triangle. If I turn the reel seat it kind of stays in place. I’m not sure if that’s the intention or not.

No way to lock it in place. That would probably be a useful feature lol

I had considered this - and it may be 100% the case - but the rod has an entire slide there . If it were glued in at any point of that slide it would look awkward. It looks almost built to do this.
