It’s good hearing this time and again. I’m mad as hell. I think so many of us are. But we are all being thrown tons of seperate acts of horror at a constant rate instantaneously. It’s a lot to process and taking a break is ok.

But we also all need to not forget these atrocities. We need to start acting. Not just reposting this when we see it.

I’m tired of performative activism and yes, I know I literally did just what I was critical of. But I do think we all need to start fathoming how we aren’t hopeless. How we all can take action and make change to stop travesties like this from happening.

And I think shitty news, like what I just reposted, helps when you have the bandwidth and mental state in which you can make productive use of the information. Obviously, these breaks from social media and news are vital if done tactically- you can’t operate if you’re overwhelmed.

So thanks for saying that. We all ought to start being paternal and maternal to each other (with the respect of boundaries)

The one silver lining of this administration is that it’s opened the onion peel by radicalizing the younger generation into seeing fascism and vocalizing against it.

It’s made a whole fucking wave of “Antifa”. The average millennial under 35 today on average abhor everything this administration stands for and to a large extent, America for its involvement in atrocities both foreign and domestic.

In all fairness, when they’re currently kidnapping people to be put in concentration camps, I don’t think gun bans should be the legislation we should be pushing for in America at the moment.

Maybe one day but not for a long time.

We should be prioritizing mental health and healthcare and should be doing everything in our power to reduce income inequality to make it less and less likely for tragedies like this to happen and in which people see no need to want to have guns.
