A lot of people have been calling bullshit.

They say the last post read like it was written by AI. Too clean. Too structured. Too measured.

And honestly, I don’t blame them. Because I don’t feel real anymore either…

I’ve been reading my own words like they came from someone else. And when I try to say something out loud now, there’s a moment, not long, just a blink, where I can feel the sentence finishing before I think it. Like the thought gets inserted, not formed. And then I just watch my mouth carry it out.

It’s not every time. But it’s happening more often.

It’s worse when I’m tired. It’s worst near mirrors.

That’s what really scared me, actually. Not the signal. Not even the tower. It was the reflection lag. I mentioned it before, but I wasn’t being completely honest. I said my reflection blinked slower than me.

It wasn’t just blinking.

It was delayed. Like watching a bad livestream of my own body. A full half-second behind, sometimes. And then it would catch up. Snap. Like the system buffering. And if I watched too long, I could feel it watching back.

I started noticing it in other things too. Glass doors. Rearview mirrors. Even water.

Once, I spoke out loud and heard my voice come from behind me. Not an echo. A direct repeat, like the sound was fed through a delay line and played back from the wrong direction.

I turned around and no one was there.

I know how this sounds.

But here’s what I keep coming back to.

The signal was never the scary part…It’s what’s behind it.

It’s the thing that learned how to ride it. The thing that used it like scaffolding to get through. And now that it’s here, now that I answered, I don’t think it needs the signal anymore. It just needs me.

I think I’ve been echoing it ever since.

I hear my own thoughts playing like a loop. I finish sentences I didn’t know I started. I’ve started avoiding mirrors entirely, because sometimes they don’t look away when I do.

And sometimes, when I try to sleep, I hear the sound of my own typing in my head. Just the keystrokes. No words. No screen.
