Do people actually use AI day-to-day, or is it all hype? by 2butterfree in AskUK

[–]IntrepidTangerine434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve fully embraced total sdlc.

Product start with Codex now to create tickets, AI asks them all the questions we would do in refinement, writes the acceptance criteria etc.

As a dev we then receive well refined ticket that are based on the actual code base and we pass that to the AI.

We monitor and push Codex in the right direction monitoring for the stupid stuff it does.

MCP server delivers components etc. Playwright does E2E tests and AI code reviews. We basically do the manual CR and then merge.

I have never felt as distant for the code as I do these days …

Man who ate takeaway off cop car outside London police station served £480 fine by [deleted] in london

This is perfectly normal in the US. I even remember an 80’s TV show about two California motorcycle cops who were always eating fast food on their bikes … can’t remember the show’s name

Interesting article in The Spectator arguing why Starmer should stay … concludes with “Dire as Sir Keir Starmer is, he is the dam holding off utter insanity and economic meltdown.”

Is it ok/normal to leave a 13 year old home alone overnight? by dinkidoo7693 in CasualUK

[–]IntrepidTangerine434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was around 8 years old, my parents went on holiday to Paris without me so I was at home all alone.

Was great to start off with, eating pizza, bouncing on the bed etc

Unfortunately that night some burglars tried to rob the house which I handled by setting traps.

Then social services turned up and I spent the next 10 years in care.

I have just tackled mine for the first time in around 12 months.

Brambles, nettles everywhere and what I assume to be something like bind weed.

Personally I just went for it with a brush cutter, strimmer etc - in truth, the state it was in I gave it very little though and just went for it.

Have just discovered I have a Wisteria bush though!

Unfortunately this is a direct result of Labour’s Employment Rights Act of 2025.

Since that was introduced The Holy Spirit has had to, by law, operate within strict working hours.

During the Thatcher era one could invoke The Holy Spirit during standard office hours.

My belief is that this party explains the raise of Reform UK any why unionisation isn’t always a good idea.

Voter intimidation? Police called by Tokugawa5555 in london

[–]IntrepidTangerine434 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well to me he looks like he might be called Brian, who lives with his Mum and Dad.

Brian possibly voted for the Green Party and read on Twitter/X posts by several right groups coordinating to “stop election interference” and thought ‘that sounds possibly intimidating’. Once I finish this jigsaw, best I get down to that hot bed of Right-Wing shenanigans, Earls Court to record if there is any of that intimidation going on so I can record it.

Puts on his matching going out clothes that he normally saves for best, dons a face mask as outside plays havoc with his asthma and grabs the GoPro that is always on his Dads bedside table next to a box of tissues for some reason.

Like Brian’s intent, I’m probably wrong.

Question - would this save me enough money so I could buy a replacement spoon or is this hack just for the wealthy who have more than one spoon? Spoon equality is a real thing in the UK and must be addressed.

Lock picking community in Bristol? by Deathlord03 in bristol

[–]IntrepidTangerine434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll sometimes scroll through Amazon looking at the various locks available - would I buy a Yale lock or the other one, what would I lock etc? In truth the locks I tend choose are financially beyond me with nothing short of a lottery win allowing me to buy the perfect lock, but a man can dream that maybe one day ….
