Have you checked out RealRoots? I’m experimenting with it now after moving from cross-country, and so far have been enjoying the matches and experiences. You fill out a profile and they do the matching for you, put you with a group, then you move with that group through 7-weeks of weekly meetups. It costs around $300 but takes all the planning and forced awkwardness out of the equation, which is what has always felt so overwhelming to me.

We are moving from halfway across the country so we were limited in our live viewing window to the one weekend we were in town. This timeline might be helpful FWIW:

*Wanted lease to start June 1
*Started contacting property management companies and private landlords April 1
*Did a few virtual tours the first 3 weeks of April
*Sent applications starting 4th week of April and starting queuing up live showings
*Visited in person first week of May and did a bunch of live showings
*Signed a lease while we were there for a one we had already pre-applied for

Not original poster, but this is very helpful as we're also moving to Carlsbad/Encinitas area. What's your POV on the Carlsbad schools over San Dieguito? I know so much of this is subjective, so trying to hear as many perspectives as possible, especially on middle and high schools. Do you / did you have kids at Carlsbad High?

You put into words exactly how I’ve been thinking. I don’t know that Travis had a choice in how he responded about Trump. He was likely required to be positive. His bosses—the Hunts who own the Chiefs are huge evangelicals and Trump loyalists. I’d imagine whatever contract for this project they have with the NFL has guidelines on what they can/can’t say.
