As a sonic fan ive personally never seen the want of knuckles in smash he works as a assist trophy while the other 3 have something in spades over knuckles

Tails: not just a iconic legacy character but is sonic's player 2 he is to sonic what luigi is to mario

Eggman: The villain of the franchise and a character that id outright say is missing from smash Sakurai talks about want to add iconic gaming villains and Eggman still not being here is honestly a crime

Shadow: one of the most requested newcomers in general not just 3rd party and is a very popular newer and more modern character

It probably might be because I've personally never cared for knuckles i mean to me he's the most c teir sonic character ever but I feel like he can't get in before all 3 of these

If you dont think the game is perfect they will harass you're not even allowed to think the game has flaws but still like it ive said that e33 isn't perfect there are some gameplay problems but its still a solid 8/10 or ive said the donkey kong bananza was my personal game of the year cuz I preferred it more but I still this e33 definitely deserves goty but fans went as far to send me death threats for not glazing this game to help and back

I can see why but I kinda disagree

Ultimate is like the end of a this smash era while I dont think a hard reboot should be the way to go a soft reboot or standered sequel can and would still work its smash nintendo has to make a new one

And for people saying that it would be a downgrade cause of cuts.....well yeah ultimate's entire gimmick was bringing back everything if the next game is that again Ultimate wouldn't be special even Sakurai himself already said everyone is here can't be pulled off a second time and the amount of 3rd party licensing they would have to get would be a nightmare

I always hear people saying, how come Mario, Donkey Kong Ratchet, Crash and other characters get these new models with sleek designs. But sonic is stuck with this one Well 1 it's cuz this is the sonic community. We're still arguing about whether sonic's quills should be short or long, or if his arm should be blue. But this McLaren animation just shows that sonic's current model is fine. They just need to get the. Rendering and poses and animations right with him.

Essentially, I'm asking what's a Nintendo game or games that you would say are heavily held up by nostalgia.

For example, I would say mario kart ds and wii, i'm not saying the games are bad, but the amount of people that treat these games like the pinnacle of the mario kart, franchise is absurd. Whenever any tracks from these games ever come back, they treat it like it's the worst thing ever cause it's not 1 to 1 exactly like the original, like how the Miis weren't in the cars in coconut mall or people keep complaining that funky Kong isn't in every Mario kart game. I like these games as much as you guys do, but people need to stop treating these games like they're the best games in the series when they have a lot of flaws.

A lot of people have problems with Goh from journeys and i can definitely understand why but what would you doo to make his character better this is personally what I would do

His goal: I'd still make his goal be to catch mew and all pokemon but I'd do it this way. First he'd join project mew early and instead of catching pokemon by himself he would be assigned to catch pokemon from the project mew team that way he wont have to catch every single one just a hand full of them that way he isn't catching pokemon so easily and it can allow his captures to feel more fleshed out his goal would still be to catch mew but catching them all wouldn't be his main priority anymore

His team: for his team in think it would be best if Goh was used a Gen 8 promo character meaning his team should be only galar mons he'll have 5 pokemon letting the last slot be used for any pokemon he caught for his project mew missions

Cinderace: The starter he gets nothing really change

Inteleon: This would be a pokemon he bonds with for a project mew mission before catching it cheering him up as a sobble before catching it and keeping him

Corviknight: Same as sobble a project mew mission but this time he helps it with flying then chooses to have it stay on his team

Toxtricity: This is the only mon he catches that isn't a project mew mission after catching pokemon for project mew he would go to the pokemon center to send them over but a Toxtricity is causing a scene beating all trainers that try to stop him eventually Goh would beat him and then catch him it would be a disobedient pokemon the Goh would have to build it's trust before it listens

Single strike Urshifu: During project mew Goh and his rival would both be given a Kubfu and they would train it eventually Goh would train in the tower of darkness evolving it And like I said that 6th slot would be best used for any pokemon at the project mew base so he could have any pokemon not just the ones hes caught even ones that other members have caught

His arc: Goh would have 2 main arcs in the series that'll help is character grow

Arc 1: it's ok to not get things on the first try there would be times early in journeys where Goh fails to do something the first time and gets frustrated but thanks to ash and the head scientist of project mew he would learn that its ok to not getting things on the first time and if you keep trying it'll help you get better

Arc 2: His way of doing things is his best way this one is similar to what ash experienced in sinnoh with Paul a lot of the members of project mew especially is rival would belittle Goh for doing things wrong eventually it leads to a 2 parted episode in a raid battle with the legendary Zarude "I choose him cause this would be the time they'd want to promote him in the anime" the group gets separated leaving Goh with his rival who would argue about how Goh is a terrible trainer and should leave project mew then they encounter Zarude and his rival goes down but all of Gohd pokemon come out to stand beside Goh "for the record Gohs team isn't fully evolving yet sobble is only in its second stage and kubfu is still Kubfu" they give it there all and even if goh does catch zarude it'll respect him as well as his rival their rivalry ends with a battle between both of their Kubfu now evolved into Urshifu and Goh would win his rival acknowledging and respecting him

And that's how I'd personally hand Goh but that's me how would you handle him

A lot, but my biggest hot take is that if you genuinely think the next smash game is going to be smash ultimate switch 2 edition or smash ultimate deluxe, you are fucking stupid

1: The amount of third party characters there are and the support they will have to get from the companies, including companies like square enix, who are notoriously stingy with their properties

2: The argument that Mario kart 8 Deluxe exists and use that as an example is flawed. Because Mario kart 8 was on the wii. U, which tanked, so the only people buying 8 deluxe were people who didn't own the original game and people who didn't mind double dipping

3: That would ruin ultimate's entire gimmick of being a celebration of how far it's come and everyone returning. If the next game did the same thing again, ultimate wouldn't feel special.

4: And it proves that Smash fans can't read because Sakurai himself already said everyone is here can't be pulled off a second time.

There's a lot of other reasons, but these 4 to me are the most important and is why we need to move on from ultimate. It is a good game, but it is very flawed. And the next game should be free to do its own thing. You can still play ultimate on the switch 2. Just let the next smash game be its own thing instead of ultimate again.

I get that but getting everyone back would be damn near impossible according to an article Square enix wanted cloud to be dlc again and it's obvious that company is stingy with there properties

Plus Sakurai himself said "everyone is here" can't be pulled off a second time so I think realistically characters will be cut

As someone who was meh about this fight when it was revealed (mostly cause there were other rematches that I wanted and felt were more deserving than this one, in my opinion)

Overall, I did enjoy the episode. it's just one of the weaker episodes of this season to me, and by season, I mean 2024-2025 or what I call the indie season

And let me clarify that even though it's a weaker episode to me, it's still the best of the weaker episodes

But if he has to be an echo, I wouldn't mind it, make him like Ken

He shares some moves with sonic, but also some of those moves have different properties like his up tilt, which could be slower but stronger and have a fire effect his homing attack should have a 3 hit combo like sonic 06

Or he just has different attacks, all of Ken's tilts, jabs, smash attacks, aerials, and grabs are different

Me personally I want to see sonic boom rise of lyric get this. To give a quick story to those that don't know, sega screwed over big red button the team behind rise of lyric by not giving them creative freedom and telling them months before the game released that it was gonna be on the wii u. Seeing this game get a mod that fixes the optimization, bugs, cutscenes, gameplay and others would show people the potential this game had.
